"This daycare is a great place for young children to thrive and learn new things. Mrs Lourdes is a great teacher and cares very much for the children. We are so happy to have found this place, its a small group of children but they get more attention and care. Our daughter loves going there. The children do lots of educational activities. I highly recommend this daycare."
"My research for a daycare was intense and many places I turn them down until one caught my attention the Harwood Heights Children Academy. Look good on screen, made an appointment and it was like love at first sight, we took a tour and instantly we knew we found the one. My child started one year and some months and I cannot tell you that it was the best decision I have maybe for my child. My baby comes home super happy singing all day , knows her abc’s knows how to count to almost 20 in two languages!!! Oh might and my baby just turn two!! I cannot express that this is one of the best decisions I have ever made no regrets. That’s not the best of it all the teacher is the nicest most patient and emphatic and understanding person I have ever met and she definitely honors the phrase “do what love and love what you do”. Bottom line is that if you looking for a daycare and a place filled with love and care and have that peace of mind all at in one place, well look no further because Harwood Heights Children’s Academy is a place where your kid will grow friendships, learn but most importantly have fun everyday. As bonus you will get peace of mind knowing you baby is in a safe and happy environment. Thank you for all you do Mrs. Lourdes you are my baby’s Super héroe !! Your are amazing!!"
"Don’t be fooled as I was that this place will take good care of your child. My daughter was hurt in her backyard because her son backed into my daughters finger while she was writing on the sidewalk with chalk. The owner did not call me and when I picked up my daughter the owner tried to place the blame on my daughter saying that my daughter didn’t notice the bike. As far as I’m concerned, the person on the bike should take caution when riding. Her son is much older than my daughter and shouldn’t even be present during times of daycare. On another occasion, she called me to pick up my daughter because I was told my daughter wanted other children’s crayons during craft time and was crying so I needed to pick her up. She didn’t console my daughter but instead told her she had to leave and taunted my daughter with her mom saying “cry, cry”. I should have known this place was inappropriate because the owner always mentioned that a lot of verbal abuse happens in daycare. She said she witnessed a lot of it. Then as a mandated reporter, I hope she reported it and was not the offender. Please note that this is not a reason to expel a child from daycare. By law, the owner should have developed a behavioral plan to address these concerns which are normal for my daughters developmental age. I was reassured for two weeks that my daughter was doing fine and then she decided to expel my daughter for the simple fact that she wants to deal with children that are perfectly behaved according to her and her mothers standards without considering the child developmental state. Please know your rights and advocate for your child."
