"I'm sure this woman is a very good counselor for certain people but I have been very frustrated with her and want to share our experience. I thought she would be a good for my daughter. I saw her profile on psychology today and my husband took her there for an appointment after a very detailed verbal and written backstory about our needs for her. She had no problem accepting her as a patient and after her first appointment my daughter advised that we should hear feedback in a week. We heard nothing and I wound up having to reach out to her...she gave us her reccomendation which involved making another appointment, which I did. The next available that we could make was a full week out. She accepted the appointment through her portal. Then, two days before the appointment she calls and tells me that she doesn't think she's a good fit at we need to find someone else. Do you have any idea how HARD it is to find a good therapist that works with our schedule and insurance? I am a bit irritated because she had plenty of time to give us this info and to consider her ability to work with our daughter ( about a whole month) and now we are back at square one. She gave us reccomendations but had no clue if they took insurance, as if that's not an important factor to consider. I'm sure she is a very good source of counseling for the right people, but you may find yourselves in a similar situation if she feels she can't work with you as well."
