BCMW Head Start is a school located at 104 North Short Street in West Frankfort, Illinois, United States. Our institution focuses on helping children develop positive relationships with both children and adults, as well as teaching them how to function as part of a group. We also emphasize the importance of regulating emotions and behavior, taking care of personal needs, and practicing basic health and safety rules.

At BCMW Head Start, we use the iStartSmart mobile HATCH Tablets to build school readiness skills and improve outcomes. These tablets come pre-loaded with research-based early learning software and apps, allowing us to monitor child progress and personalize learning.

We also use Teaching Strategies GOLD (TSGold) to assess children from birth through kindergarten. This system helps us track children's development in 10 areas, guiding teachers through the assessment cycle and predicting next steps in learning.

In partnership with local communities, we hold Book Drives to promote literacy and provide children with new books. We also have a male involvement program called Heroes' United, which encourages positive male role models in children's lives.
