"Michael or Mr. Henson as he calls himself has a very well thought out plan and plenty of handouts. If you are a person who is already familiar with basic psychotherapy he is not the therapist for you. Michael does not like to step away from his handouts. Michael is a kind therapist with a flexible schedule, but it is tough to be vulnerable in his presence. He has follow up examples that really dumbs down your issues and for someone who teaches “validation” he does not lead by example. He stated in our marriage therapy session, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” Well, I’m sorry to say that words that hurt are exactly a reason that psychotherapist even have a job. He is also not very consistent with payments. Instead of pulling out payments every week like he said he would, he waited until several weeks stacked up and then asked us for large amounts of money, even through my unexpected unemployment. He stated he checked my husband’s insurance when we lost my insurance but that there just wasn’t any benefits available. Maybe he did check, maybe he did not; but my husband definitely has mental health benefits. This felt very slimy when it came to the business part. Finally, we haven’t been to therapy with Michael since May. Yet Michael continues to text and send emails asking us to come back. I haven’t answered him except one time to make the final payment and that was back in May. You would think he would have a much better idea of when to leave past clients alone. So today, I received another email to complete a review for him and I am obligingly doing so. Good Luck in your psychotherapy adventure readers, I know a good one is hard to find."
