"Update 9/9/2022: 10 MONTHS LATER… We just received a check in the mail. The amount of time and effort spent for a simple reimbursement - and total lack of response on Ms. Smith’s part to resolve is by far the worst we’ve ever seen. She repeatedly ignored calls, emails and letters from United Healthcare - for what reason other than to be difficult? Would have been nice to charge interest for the money she basically held hostage. NEVER again nor NEVER would recommend this practice. Update as of 6/9/2022: We have had no further communication or reimbursement from this provider for their error. There were several emails from Ms. Smith insisting that our insurance company would have to reimburse us - which is false. Our insurance company has called them, sent a letter informing them that their billing practice violates the terms of their negotiated contract AND they are responsible for refunding us the money they overcharged. Unbelievable lack of professionalism - maybe by November this year they will FINALLY get their act together. Holding our money hostage - I should ask for interest. We had a horrible experience trying to work with their billing department for insurance verification. Their billing person only works a few hours a day, never answered our calls or returned voicemails. Perhaps in the future, it would be helpful if you would place a conference call together to insurance to avoid the constant back and forth of confusion. They had NO problem billing us the full rate twice even though we have an in force policy. Then the provider called me directly and rather than being helpful - she simply argued with me that I was wrong and didn’t have coverage when both me and my spouse do. It’s a shame that people in this area have such a hard time getting quality mental health care without an uphill battle and wasted valuable time - it once again all comes down to money and not true help."
"Very professional, confidential, no-judgement, helpful. Overall a great experience so far"
"very unprofessional office and hard to get a hold of. My daughters dad picked this place after I requested therapy for my daughter. I booked a teletherapy session for my daughter because I live in Friendswood. I got a call from the office manager, Dianne, telling me that my daughters father called them to let them know that he does not want my daughter doing teletherapy sessions and that they were not allowed to use his insurance [ the court ordered insurance]. I told Dianne it was very strange for them to deny my daughter services and not let me use her insurance just because her father says so. She then stated that I could still keep the appointment but I would have to pay out of pocket. I told her that didn't make any sense because if I pay out of pocket, by court order, her dad would have to pay 50% of what I pay. In the end Frank Hood said he was postponing my daughters therapy. I will be taking my daughters services to another therapist. I told my lawyer this place seemed a little sketchy from the beginning. Always trust your gut."
"Hard to reach anyone in this office. Finally set up an appointment for my daughter. After waiting 2 weeks for my initial appointment no one showed up on the virtual meeting. I called the office multiple times while waiting. Eventually I get a call back stating Andrea Mitchell, M.Ed., LPC reviewed my paperwork and decided it was too high of a conflict situation and she would not see us. Now I am 2 weeks delayed and the holidays are approaching. Not sure why they did not read my paperwork before my appointment as I submitted it 2 weeks ago. Very disappointing and horrible communication."
"Best thing that I could have done in 2020! Strongly recommended!!"
