East Missouri Action Agency
About the Business
East Missouri Action Agency (EMAA) is located at 903 East Chestnut Street in Desloge, Missouri. Our mission is to cultivate communities of opportunity and support individuals in reaching their highest potential. Through our Community Services Department, EMAA offers assistance to low-income individuals and families in our service area through various programs such as Family Intake, Community Outreach, Emergency Assistance, and more.
Our Head Start program provides full-day services to over 700 children annually in the eight counties we serve. The Women's Wellness Center offers a range of services including physical exams, screenings, and education on various health topics. The Weatherization Assistance Program helps reduce home energy costs for low-income residents, creating a healthier living environment.
The St. Francois County Public Housing Agency provides rental assistance through the Section 8 Rental Voucher program. Affordable housing and quality jobs are top priorities for us, and we have developed a construction company to connect people with jobs and build affordable housing.
EMAA has received donations and recognition for our outstanding service to the community. Additionally, open edition prints by retired EMAA Executive Director Bill Bunch are available for a tax-deductible donation. Join us in our mission to support and empower individuals and families in our community.

"Helping the Community. The Best people"
"Got me taken care of with minimum wait. Frejnsly staff"
"Very Helpful Place But Hard To Get Anyone To Answer The Phone To Make Appointment."
"They have discriminated against me more than once and my caseworker wrote 3 falsified reports on me from a false report her friend called and made on me I have all the documents to prove this and the post office will stand behind me on this. I went to her boss and nothing after I sent him certified copies in the mail and nothing was done then I tried to go to his boss and she wouldn't see me. Now when I need an extension on my hud voucher which I have never got before my caseworker called me and said Bill said if you haven't found a place by the time your voucher expires June 9th your off the program but I went over to hud yesterday and the housing secretary ask Bill about me getting an extension and he said when it gets closer to time if I need one it won't be a problem."
"We as a society have an obligation to help one another, soberly and with great diligence. Not haphazardly without deliberation but with kindness and forethought of our neighbors needs. Regardless of Christian/ Muslim/ spiritual or otherwise it is our calling to be human and leave no one on the fringes to suffer. Treating others as we would "like" to be treated ourselves. now this does not mean to enable drug usage / self destructive lifestyles but to evaluate every families situation as all families have unique challanges that need be addressed and then move forward with appropriate action. East Mo Action Agency does our lords work. I am continually amazed at how nice and helpful EMAA is. They do not pass the proverbial buck, so to speak. So many agencies offering "help" now a-days talk a big game and some come with heavy restrictions that may be unrealistic but EMAA seems to consistently deliver. I have only positive statements about this agency as I feel EMAA is blessed fore helping struggling families in dire circumstances. While EMAA understands many families go through tough times and many families are not to blame for their circumstances. As I have been sober now for over 11 months and my significant other has a cardiac defibrillator and her heart can give out at any time (extremely scary), EMAA has been there for us. I will NOT forget this as I pray to contribute back to the agency in some fashion as it may be financial or volunteer but I intend to repay this agencies applaudable kindness as I know God is blessing them as well. Addendum: EMAA does not make you feel shamed due to your temporary setback either. They seem to treat all with due respect as that is important, fore many ppl have significant pride and already feel humiliated requiring assistance. 5 stars all around. May God/it/all bless the reader that may be needing assistance as well. Amen Selah (let it be forever)"
