"Menya Rui is GREAT for St. Louis. It’s an experience. Don’t plan on lingering long, you wait in line, but it goes by pretty fast if everyone is consciously aware of getting in & out. It’s not your typical, let’s get drinks & chat the night away. You are seated, you order on your phone (which is my only complaint, we didn’t know this & the front of the house didn’t mention it when we first were seated but I don’t think he realized we had never been before & later apologized to us). My friend & I got the Tantanmen & it was UNREAL! Some of the best ramen I’ve ever had. I didn’t leave disappointed, I left feeling excited we have a place like this in St. Louis. The atmosphere was cool. You feel like you leave St. Louis for a minute. I would just anticipate waiting a little & doing something with your date or friends before or after you go. I thought the pricing was appropriate & the portion size was perfect. I can’t wait to go back!"
"This is about as close to an authentic Japanese ramen experience as you can get in St. Louis. I love the guidelines that they include on their website (and I recommend you read them if you haven't been there before). The food was really good! I recommend the pork shoyu ramen. It was rich, umami, and had a unique combination of flavors: pork, nori, caramelized onions, bamboo, etc. The tantanmen was also good, but lacked some of the richness of the pork. Also, the ground pork wasn't as great as the sink-your-teeth-into-it pork chasu in the shoyu bowls. I also recommend adding an egg to your bowl regardless of the flavor. We will need to go back to try the brothless noodles soon!"
"It's delicious, it's the best chicken karaage I have ever tried, the ramen and the cold noodles are really good too. The 1 hr in line waiting is worth it, I think they should do reservations at least in winter, but is mainly because it's a small place. I would like them to offer some vegetarian options of broth, they don't do take out, the chairs are a little uncomfortable but you are not supposed to stay longer than an hour. The service is fast, you get your food pretty quickly"
"You WILL be waiting in an hour and 30 minute long line BUT don’t let that stop you. The ramen is insane!! Very authentic and tastes amazing. Definitely go for the chicken appetizer as well as it is some of the best chicken I’ve ever tasted in my entire life. Very fast service, quick to eat and head out to let others enjoy the experience. Totally worth waiting for!"
"Super cute and small place. You will have to wait so just be ready for that. It’s worth it!!! Once you get in you will have to order from a UR Code and place your order like that. They will bring your food and drinks out. They have a limited menu for food and drinks. Everything was amazing and will be back!"
