I tried out atleast 10 violins with many more bow combinations and was given extensive history and insight to the building and repair process for these magnificent instruments. I settled on a violin from 1952 nicknamed the "pirate King violin" and it was paired with a beautiful old case that matched the asthetic perfectly which i got for a steal. They even allowed me to rent it out for free to get better acquainted. I purchased my previous violin at arts and music and was left wanting. The customer service at Austin strings is second to none and it's hard not to walk out with a smile on your face. If I could give them 6 stars I would, don't waste your time at other shops. Go to Austin strings first."

"I came here to get a violin restrung and bow rehaired after my parents found my old childhood violin. I had no idea what to expect since I stopped playing a long time ago, but Russell and Derek were so helpful!
