"Stole all my sons credits! They claimed he didn't finish the work from last year. However they never sent a report card, never told me he didn't pass or anything. When we re enrolled I ask was everything Good they said yes & everything was good to keep moving. Never said anything about him not passing! He ended up getting kicked out because the 1st year they let them get in the habit of doing it class by class & allowing them time to catch up. So the 2nd year they start running on this if u not doing this or that u will be withdraw. None the less they would not provide any paperwork that supported he didn't do the work only a transcript. You call & they say I'm gone email this person & let me take your name & # & pass it to this person & that person. No one ever calls back. Took a about 6 months of my sons credits. Do not go here!!! They have 2.7 for good reasons!!!! Some of the teachers are great I don't want to take that from them. But overall keep scrolling to the school!!!!! From a honest mom that loves her kids!!!!"
"The curriculum is outdated and filled with false information. My child had difficulty doing certain assignments because the files were wrong or they had to wait for the teacher to email them back for help. The grading system is bizarre and makes it difficult to be successful. Your child will spend more time trying to correct "poor grades"(anything below a 90) than actually reading or learning or having ANY mandatory virtual connections with any others students or teachers. They can choose to show up to live meetings or not. That isn't part of their grade at all."
"iSchool Virtual Academy is not only disorganized, the administration seems to be completely inept at their jobs. My student's teachers have so many things to do they can never be fully attentive to teaching their students. When you logon to the courses, they are all formatted differently and it is not clear how to navigate them so you immediately need teacher assistance, however, like I said they are incredibly busy and seem frustrated having to explain the same things over and over again. Success coaches are unable to help with most questions because all of the courses are different and they don't have the time to know what each one entails. They also seem to make promises to their students that they cannot deliver on, leaving the kids frustrated. This is the theme of iSchool, lots of promises, no follow through. Enroll your kids in K-12 or Connections Academy and save your time and frustration."
"If you are thinking about enrolling your child, please listen to me... your child has to get all A's, 90 or above on all assignments...no joke...literally, all assignments. And you will have to get very involved with emailing and following up to get all assignments unlocked when your kid gets anything under a 90....They have to stay current with their work or they can get kicked out but the teachers don't answer emails immediately, so your kid will just slip further and further behind waiting. .I would not recommend this school to anyone anymore. The Assistant Director is unresponsive, the success coach is helpless to do anything about it. You will get no where trying to change this. I got this response when I tried, "sorry for your frustration" . Oozes a lack of sincerity and compassion, don't you think? We hope to find a better situation for our child as soon as possible. She is begging us every day to get her out of this place. So sad that it has fallen to pieces like this. Last year was just awesome. We really miss it."
"The school was ok. Definitely for kids that will be able to work independently or will have a parent to help explain the lessons. Math is not easy if you’re one who normally struggles with the subject. It’s hard to get used to even if you’re an excellent math student. There was one 30 minute class a day, each day a different subject. That worked just fine for us. We liked the freedom. Our teachers were responsive for the most part. One English teacher wasn’t very good, but I sent an email and they switched the teacher immediately. My complaint is that we were registered for this year and they dropped the bomb on us that they had decided not to teach that grade this year.. This did leave us in a bind as I had to rush to enroll them elsewhere, spend a lot of money that was not initially planned, and we were forced to start school two weeks earlier than we had originally expected. We only had two weeks to get everything done before the new school started back. We did not appreciate that. You could have given notice sooner. Clearly someone didn’t understand or care how that last minute email was going to affect the students and their families."
