"I purchased a Cessna TTX with a Garmin 2000, Had a different instructor check me out on the airplane and the avionics. Gary showed me things on both the airplane and the avionics that I had not seen and would of probably never figured out. Great job Gary. I highly recommended Gary. Not cheap but well worth every dollar I spent."
"Gary is really great to fly with and has an extreme amount of knowledge to share. He has a really good teaching method that allows the single pilot IFR world to slow down and make more sense. I highly recommend training with Gary! This was our best path to get great at IFR using our Avidyne and S-TEC autopilot."
"I am a low-time tail-dragger pilot who sold my Champ and bought a 182 K model with a Garmin430W. I am planning to get my Instrument rating, so I had new instruments installed , Twin GI275’s. But, I asked, What is the best way to learn their capability? I found You Tube videos instructive. But, I was unable to completely utilize all of the functions available while flying. I realized that needed to get Expert in- person instruction. While watching the videos, the name Gary Reeves kept coming up. I found him on Pilotsafety.org The website name caught my attention , particularly the “Safety” part. I contacted Gary and discussed having him come up to Minnesota in late Feb 2021 for training in my plane. In anticipation of his arrival, he provided videos on GI275, Foreflight and the Garmin 430W. I spent quite a while studying the videos prior to our session, which I found VERY helpful. Gary also had me reading Rod Machado’s Instrument Pilot’s Handbook to help make the instruction more relevant. Soon enough, February came. We met in the pilot shack on my airport. I knew in the first 30 minutes of Ground school that Gary’s approach was well worth the cost of the training. His extensive flying experience and work with the FAA Safety team provided him with countless illustrations that help highlight his teaching points. We spent the first day in Ground school. The second day was a long cross country on a clear day. The last day was spent working on approaches, during which the weather was less than ideal. After successfully completing a particularly difficult landing in gusting winds and wind shear, Safely on the runway, he was congratulated by the air traffic controllers. He immediately returned the praise and further complimented the controllers on the quality of their work. He compared them favorably to controllers that he has dealt with in other parts of the world. Having the wherewithal to do that, at that point in the flight, demonstrated his comfort in the aviation environment and truly exemplified his personality. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Gary. I learned a lot about flying and my new instruments. I also have a much greater appreciation for those in the Control Towers. I strongly recommend his training course. Thanks, Gary!
