"I wish I had better things to say about Tomball Womens Healthcare Center because I really liked it at first, however it went downhill pretty quickly as my pregnancy progressed and I had to switch OBs in my third trimester. I moved to Tomball last year and needed an OB closer to me. I was referred to Dr Ibe from a friend as she had used her for multiple pregnancies and she had great things to say. I also was hopeful because of the great reviews. My first appointment went smoothly, the staff was great, the office was clean, and spacious. Dr Ibe seemed very sweet when I first met her and I thought she would be a doctor who would truly listen to me. My first appointment and ultrasound to confirm pregnancy was quick as I suspected it would be since it was still very early on. Because I wasnt considered high-risk, I was seeing her every 4 weeks. Well, I started experiencing concerning symptoms that were quite scary around the end of my first trimester. I would call Dr Ibes office to leave a message for the nurses regarding my symptoms and wouldnt even receive any call back, my voicemail would go ignored until I called again. My symptoms were concerning me and I wasnt sure if I needed to be seen. I ended up calling the after hours line where I spoke to a male OB on the phone and after telling him my symptoms he said “thats normal. But if you feel like you need to go to the hospital go to the hospital” And that I couldnt possibly be in as much pain as I was. Turns out after going to the hospital, there was a reason for my pain and symptoms. I had a moderately sized subchorionic hemorrhage. Very frustrating that the doctors here gaslight you into thinking that your symptoms are normal. if they had looked into the problem sooner and listened, I would have been much less anxious about it. I came in to the office to see Dr Ibe and I was in tears about the whole situation and how poorly it was handled. she did do a good job explaining to me that the hemorrhage was normal and not a cause for concern and even offered to get me an additional ultrasound, which made me feel much better. But the fact it had to happen that way in the first place after so much hassle and medical gaslighting was my problem. It doesn’t end there.. I then started to experience extreme bladder and lower pelvic pain. I told dr Ibe about my pain and having possible uti symptoms and because my urine dipstick came back “clear” she dismissed it as not concerning and labeled it as “the baby putting pressure on my bladder”. I believed her. For almost a month I dealt with that pain, until it got so bad I knew something wasnt right. I was in so much pain I was sweating, hot and doubled over to try and get relief. I was frustrated and called Dr Ibes office where they told me to come in and leave a urine sample. Finally, they decided to send my urine for a urine culture. And not surprisingly, I had a UTI. group b strep. I was walking around with a UTI for a month or more due to medical gaslighting yet again. They prescribed me antibiotics which I took, but even after them I still felt symptoms which they of course didn’t believe me. They just said to “let the antibiotics work” and “take cranberry pills or azo”. So, I did as they told me to. At my next appointment I expressed I still felt UTI symptoms and they said well your dipstick came back clear. Yet again they weren’t believing me. I told them they needed to do a urine culture again and finally they listened. And yup! I was right, antibiotics didnt clear the infection up at all with the first round So dr ibe then prescribed a different antibiotic I had never had before. I had an allergic reaction to it and stopped taking it, and when I called after hour line to tell dr Ibe about this, she didn’t believe me and instead told me to just go to a urgent care to see if it really was an allergic reaction. Which it was. After this incident, I knew the office didnt have my best interest in mind. I was just a patient to them! I didnt want them delivering my baby. Switching was the best decision I made."
