"For being surrounded by kind of a nasty part of town, and a bunch of very anti-pedestrian roads, this is really serene and pretty! We went in early October and saw a ton of Canadian geese, making a pitstop on their way down south. You’ll be hearing people blasting down Western all the time and I’d imagine this being directly under a flight path doesn’t help the wildlife, but the foliage and paths are great."
"Great space near the city to bring young kids. Lots of sticks and trees to climb about and space to run. A play sink and play kitchen included too. Recommended, probably 4 and below. Older kids may lose interest. Occasionally you can see dear around and they get fairly close."
"Fairly large nature play space tucked at the side of the West Ridge Nature Park. Features a number of spaces to play with logs, branches and a few built wooden benches and structures. Kids can really let their imaginations create and play however they want. Of course, with so much natural material, bumps, bruises and cuts are likely to happen. But it also teaches free play and exercising natural caution and risk. The ground is mulched and the space is largely enclosed by a short wooden fence. However, there is poison ivy just outside the space that is clearly marked, so it is advisable to stay well within the area. Just like the park itself, the play space is rarely busy, and offers a travel place to spend a part of the day, especially if you pack a meal or snack."
"Haven’t really seen anything like it. Very fun! Loved the big wood xylophone!"
"Great place to bring kids. There are a couple tree swings, tables made out of trees and logs to play in/around."
