"My oldest daughter was in the care of Lene and Bonnie from the age of 6 months to 4 years old. From the moment we met them, we felt at ease and such a caring, warm vibe. My youngest daughter was also in the care of Bonnie from the age of 1-2 years old. My girls absolutely loved both Lene and Bonnie and all of their teachers they had, enjoyed the nutritious and delicious homemade vegetarian food, all of the outdoor play time and exploring the garden. We had to leave WG last year due to relocating but we miss them dearly. This is truly a wonderful and unique school and we highly recommend it."
"This is such an incredible school, I couldn't pass at the opportunity to write a review. My daughter has been attending Wholesome Generation almost six months now and I have had nothing but positive experiences. The teachers are wonderful & loving, the meal plans are vegan/vegetarian, and the kids get to enjoy a lot of outdoor time. All of these things are really important to me and should be for most parents. There aren't many schools you will stumble upon that have a humidifier with essential oils running in the front office. I absolutely love the holistic, nature-focused way of life here and am truly thankful to be a part of this community."
"When I first contacted WG, I told the director Lene that my daughter had been abused at her previous school. Lene insisted that she cared so much and has so much love for all the kids and their parents. Because the school seemed to be in alignment with all things balanced and natural, I chose WG and therefore gave up a job offer with free tuition at a well respected school in the area. I was promised a job by Lene in June of 2016 to start the following August 2016. I kept being told that the room wasn't ready yet. My devotion to the school was not only spending thousands of dollars on credit to pay bills while I kept myself available for the job, but I also volunteered around 100 hours of my time for free waiting to be hired. I had already paid my years tuition with 6 enrollments that I procured for the school as was originally agreed to by Lene. Yet, well into the school year, she demanded that I volunteer 12 hours every week to keep Lilian there! I did the volunteering in spite of everything to ensure that I got the job I desperately needed. I was being left alone with children even though I was never given the required training and did not have my background check finalized. When I told Lene I was not comfortable with that because it was illegal, she said "Licencing was just here so they won't find out". In April 2017, I finally found out that my job had been given away and that Lene had no plans of hiring me. I found this out when I volunteered to help the 2 women that were hired instead. One of them (both single mothers) was shorted half of her paycheck! When she asked Lene about it, she was told that she should be glad to get what she was given because they could have gotten me to do the job for free! Lene did not even bother to tell me that the job I had waited nearly a year for was no longer on the table, she just insisted on more volunteer hours. She tried to say that I wasn't hired because I didn't have the background check. I did do the background check and there was a mistake on their part. I had paid for it and the fingerprinting myself. Lene told me WG would pay for the second one and that she would give me the money when it was time. She never said a word about it again. She did tell me to apply for assistance to pay for part of next years tuition and that I could lie to get past the prerequisite of having to be employed 25 hours a week. The 2 who were hired instead of me were extremely upset saying that they were not being given breaks (not even to use the bathroom!), they did not have the basic supplies they needed and that the children were melting down because they were not getting their snack on time (if at all), and the lunch had been the same food for 3 days of snack type stuff rather than a real lunch. Often I saw kids going hungry because they serve foods that kids don't like. Not all the food is organic either. My daughter told me on several occasions throughout the year that she didn't get both snacks. I was even given stale crumbs from salty tortilla chips to give kids as a snack more than once. In addition, I was lied to several times and other parents/teachers were complaining to me of dishonesty as well. Most of the ones I know have left or are planning to leave the school for this reason. Love and communication is all Lene talks about, but this place provides little to none of either. Children are ignored when they are being bullied and teachers are not being supported. The disorganization is unacceptable, but the lies are criminal. My child was not abused here, but she did have 3 different teachers in one year because the first 2 were incompetent and or inappropriate. The 3rd teacher was decent, but she has not yet mastered the English language so teaching 2nd graders English was not really possible. Thank goodness my child is above average so it didn't matter that she was basically in day care all year, but this is not a real school. This is a place that sells you an idea for $995 per month and delivers scraps of that idea."
"Wholesome is awesome! Wholesome Generation follows a very nature-centric approach. WG is different from traditional schools over it's focus on healthy lifestyle. It has a much better student-teacher ratio. Teachers are incredibly impressive. It is hard not to envy their energy. Food is amazing. They are very conscious about allergies and promote healthy eating habits. 5/5 stars for Wholesome!"
"As first time parents we had to face one of the toughest desicions...finding the right care for our baby. We were so hopeless with our options until we found WG. Someone told me that they felt like crying when they saw their campus for the first time because it was just so beautiful...and that is how we felt as well. It is a big property surrounded by trees, has a creek and lots of open space! Inside the school is cozy and delicately aromatized with natural essential oils which set a relax and inviting environment. Their classroom are no over crowed with store brought materials, instate natural elements are around the classroom and children art is posted on walls and hangs from the windows. The children are children at WG, you can see them and their teacher laughing and happily conversing with each other. Our baby goes to the NIdo classroom and from the day we tour the school she felt like at home, which we haven't saw before. We know our daughter and knew that the transition from home to school wasn't not going to be easy...Her teacher is not just sweet but kind, honest and loving... She has Been a great communicator and tell us when our LO had a great day as well when she has been more sad than usual, eating or sleeping less...and this is such an important part for us because we know we can trust her. We had experiences on which the staff have tell us that she is doing great but we could see that her food has been hardly touch, she was sad and cranky and so ready to go home. On the other hand it is so hard to go home now because she just love her school! She wants to play outside and then come back in to her classroom to see her teacher...she kissed and hugged her from day one...I trust my baby's hearth and I know WG is the place we have been looking for. She is currently in the Nido classroom but I am so excited for her to take part on the preschool and upper grade...every teachers is happy, professional and friendly, they have bilingual staff, healthy and organic food, and they served a diverse population offering the program to low income families as well....Lene, the founder, has an amazing energy and has an open door policy because they don't have anything to hide, she is always there to accommodate to your family and child needs instate of expecting you to adapt to them...it feels like the Tribe we left at home! We love WG and I am sure your family will too!"
