"I’ve never had a bad experience until today. Very disappointed. I went and got all the ingredients to make a ragu bolognese and chef’d it up for hours with everything going well until the last step… details to come. My ragu sauce is pretty standard, I put celery carrots, shallot, and pancetta in a food processor. Next I move to heating that up, I then brown bison and pork, a little red wine and then I add tomato paste and crushed tomatoes. After hours of stirring, love, and attention I add heavy cream. 10 times out of 10 it is delicious. Today I was feeling a little frisky and I added a handful of freshly grated parmigiana reggiano and stirred throughout. All was well until I went for a second handful and I noticed a black speck in the container. Upon further review I noticed that the black speck was a spider!!! Disgusting. No way could I serve this dish to my family. Normally jewel is great, it’s lower priced than other grocery stores and good for staples, but if there is a quality issue that continues I will take my business elsewhere."
