"It was... Well whatever. It was ok. The school was SO focused on bully prevention, though. My daughter got to middle school and it was quite a shock because they had put TOO MUCH emphasis on it that when she got to a place where people were bullied, she was not prepared."
"Your welcome"
"Not focused on academics, mainly earning money from the state based on attendance. My girls are very bright, make excellent grades yet were singled out due to their attendance. Rather than the school working with us to determine what the issue was, kids should NOT be in tears before going to school, we were constantly discussing how many days were missed, never the WHY. Now the we have moved out of the Blattman area, the girls will be enrolling in another elementary school, Blattman would not allow them to finish out the school year based on...not grades and good behavior, but attendance. Whatever happened to the days when schools actually cared about the individual students and their lives? It just seems like public education has become a money making machine rather than a place where kids learn and grow with the help of ALL of the adults in their communities, the closest being the parents and then the educators. Extremely disappointed in this school and it was a terrible experience for me as a parent to feel like my sweet kids were not wanted in this school, like no one cared about anything except the budget dollars. I tried counseling within the schools, speaking with the teachers and tried to partner with the Vice Principal, with little success. Now just as one child was doing well and beginning to like going to Blattman, we have to start all over again. This just does not seem like the best thing for any child, especially ones going through major life transitions like divorce and moving."
"My favorite school yet"
