"There was this one worker who was the greatest of all time at bagging grocers he is so fast at doing it that one time I forgot something and they stayed bagging and b the time I was back they said that they’re was the 15 other people that have went"
"I mean it's Jewel, there produce is one step quality under Whole Foods. It's my emergency stop shop."
"My overall grade for Jewel-Osco is: C I’ve been shopping here since the 80’s. Therein lies the rub. This store has not changed much and new stores around the neighborhood are easily 4-10 times as big. This is not under the control of the store. I get it. The upside is they have great hours so that if you need an ingredient at odd hours, this place will most likely be open. I came in for lasagna noodles and found a very small selection. So, off to Caputo’s I went and found a monster pasta selection. Yes, a bit unfair. The checkout process always seems to take sooooo long. Again, mostly not under their control. So, it’s small. Selection is small. Checkout process not the best. But, they’re close by and they’re probably open."
"My three sons and I went to this location on 8/14/23. We got in line to check out and as children do my oldest son put the items that were his on the end of the belt, while he was doing so I got the item divider as there was another lady in front of us putting a couple last minute items on the belt. I made sure to hold the two items at the end of the belt so the woman could finish unloading. While holding my items back the cashier an older woman rudely starts screaming at my child “CAN YOU LET HER FINISH PUTTING HER ITEMS ON HERE” I paused and told her excuse me ma’am for one don’t ever talk to my child like that, two I as his mom noticed that the woman before was still unloading her groceries which is why I grabbed the divider, three it’s not uncommon for one to put items on the belt as those before finish checking out. I then proceeded to seek a manager to tell her about the rude cashier which is when I met Kathy the front end manager. I told her how upset and uncomfortable I was about the situation and felt I was treated as such because I am African American and her response was “oh she’s always cranky.” EXCUSE ME!!! Being a cashier is a customer service job you are face to face with customers, you need the right attitude to be a cashier especially with the customers who’s hard earned money keep the store in business!!!!! The whole situation pissed me off so bad that I will NEVER go back to this racist location EVER!!!!! This is not the first time something like this has happened to a customer of color I have visit this location a lot and have seen how customers of color are treated. Jewels please assist on this one because I plan to use my social platform to get the word out about this location and it’s racist employees."
"My family had planned a picnic in a nearby park, but forgot to order drinks. This Jewel was close. They had some no sugar flavor water on sale, great. I asked about ice, they said I could get it at checkout. Then I remembered we would need a container. I ask and was directed to the correct isle. I remembered many things we might need and the staff was courteous and helpful. I used to be a regular Jewel customer until the corporate executives decided that to be a loyal rewards program participant, you have to pay a fee. So much for rewarding loyal customers. Now I go to Jewel only for special occasions."
