"Decent Mariano's. Feels a bit less "Kroger-fied" to me than the one in Bloomingdale somehow. Also smaller and brighter, things which I feel make it more pleasant to shop in. They also somehow have a bigger salad bar and a better arranged hot bar with more options than the bigger one in Bloomingdale, which has just kinda become a sad joke, honestly. On the downside, prices on many things here honestly kinda suck. Campbell's chunky soup, for example, costs FOUR DOLLARS for a single 18-19 oz. can. At Target 5 minutes west, it costs $2.25 or $2.50 per can normal price, and $2 per can on sale! Mariano's does have a bigger variety of flavors, but come on. Cereal also seems wildly overpriced but they do occasionally have good deals where a 13-18 oz. box costs $3 or even $2.50. I've also dealt with my fair share of having to keep a very close eye on expiration dates because I've seen many things close to reaching or even passing those dates already on store shelves. Overall, I prefer this one to the one Bloomingdale, BUT I still wouldn't call it a *great* store by any means."

"I only use this store when I really need to grab something quick. Every time I go here it seems one or more of their employees is horrible at their job. I was picking up some food from the hot table one day and an employee came by to organize stuff when he bumped the stack of containers he pushed them back into place with his shoe the containers we put food into with his shoe. They have the worst health code training ever apparently. Another time at the hot table months later I watched the same kid drop the tongs for the Che chicken into the dirty water inside the heater of the table and then place those tongs right on top of the fresh chicken he brought out. When I told this to the manager and explained that the entire pile of chicken was now contaminated with whatever is in the water that sits under the pans he just shrugged me off. Horrible for cleanliness and sanitation. Sorry for the long post."

"Never in my life have a been somewhere with such blatant disregard for their staff and patrons. We got more than 6" if snow OVER a day ago and they still haven't bothered to have their parking lot cleared. The only reason why I'm not giving them a 1 start review is because the young men in the bakery section were very kind and accommodating. But clearly this place needs NEW MANAGEMENT!!!"

"I do not regularly shop at the store. But i was really impressed with their carts. It was so smooth it made my shopping experience so much nicer the carts at the other Mariano's stores are so old and really need to be replaced"

"I use to like Wheaton’s Mariano’s but today a kid checking me out complained how many groceries I had. “ Oh Wow, that’s a lot!” And just kept commenting which was completely unprofessional. It was 9:40pm, the store did not close until 10pm. My cart was not even that full. No one helped bag. I helped hand stuff to make it easier. Looking at receipt the things on sale did not ring up right. I now have to go back and bring everything back for them to fix their mistakes. Annoyed!!"
