"I have been out of my prescription meds for over a month and just recently tried the Jewel Pharmacy at the advice of my dr. After a week of no word, I called this morning and the pharmacist on duty (Young, Dark, Happy, Gentleman, I dont know his name!) was not only 100% empathetic to me, went out of his way to get my script filled the same day and came and talked to me when i picked it up. He was so kind and I also heard him hyping up and praising his staff for their hard work during busy peak. Just talking to him improved my day, let alone finally getting my meds. THANK YOU A MILLLION TIMES OVER."
"Update, 1/10/24: I'd just like to add that the most recent (emailed) response stated that they are now refusing to refund my order that was cancelled and never picked up. Jewel literally told me, in writing, that they are stealing nearly $60 from me. DO NOT SHOP HERE. Original review: I placed an order through the Jewel app on December 20th. This order included a buy one, get one free coupon for bread, so I ordered two loaves of bread which were included with the coupon. Both were listed as in stock, but one of the two was cancelled. The app offered a substitution but it was not part of the coupon, and did not allow me to select any of the breads which WERE part of the coupon as substitutions, even though there were several others still showing as in stock, which basically meant they were going to charge me the same price but only give me half of what I ordered. I sent an email through the app requesting this be corrected before my scheduled pickup time several hours later, but they never responded, so I sent another requesting cancellation. They informed me that the order was cancelled and would be refunded within 5-7 business days. Even with two non-business day Mondays for Christmas and New Years, it should have been refunded by January 2nd at the very latest. When it wasn't, I sent several follow-up emails requesting information on when the refund WOULD be sent, but all were ignored. So I went through the app and submitted an entirely new request, and finally got an answer on January 4th stating that the refund would be expedited and sent that night. Now, four days later, I STILL have not received my refund to my debit card/bank, and was never told that it would be refunded any other way, such as a check by mail. So, they keep ignoring my requests for updates, and when I force the issue, they lie to me about having refunded it. My advice? Do not, under any circumstances, use their app/online ordering system, because they will use it to screw you out of coupons and then try to screw you out of a refund. I think my favorite thing about all this is browsing the other reviews, seeing the ownership/management responding to every negative review with an "Oh no! We'll get this fixed right away!"... and seeing that nothing. ever. changes."
"Here's my problem with Wauconda Jewel - I have found that often the shelf prices don't match the register price. Estimate one or more items each visit. This is a hassle for the customer. If you notice at the register you have to hold up other customers while the checker calls someone. If you notice after checkout you have to wait at the courtesy desk for a refund. And I don't mean JustForU deals - have the app and it works well. I don't ever have this problem at LZ Jewel. Yesterday I needed to go to the Post Office so went to Wauconda Jewel - a big special sign by registers on donuts caught me eye. Originally $4.99 now $2.99...came up at the register as $4.49. So every customer who bought them only because of the $2.99 price was then overcharged $1.50. This is just deceptive. Wauconda Jewel - you need to do better. Customers need to trust in correct pricing."
"This is the only grocery store in town so I shop here often. Several times I use the sale ad to plan my list and plan meals. I did the same last Wednesday. I was looking for the Perdue chicken that was supose to be on sale. The chicken I found was not sale priced. When I asked the meat guy about it he gave me his standard " My manager is gone for the day and I can't do any thing about it." This has happened many times before. When I pulled out my phone to bring up the ap to show him the sale price he told me " I don't know what you want me to do about it. " and I should bring one of the chickens to the service desk so they could help me. He walked away. When I picked up the chicken to do that my hands were covered in the stench of rotten chicken. I also bought some Bob Evans mashed potatoes ( also on sale ) When I opened them up at home they smelled like mildew. I will be looking for a new grocery store for my weekly shopping. One that I can trust to have edible products. I should add that every other department has been helpful if I had a question."
