La Catrina

"Good local tex-mex place, love the frozen drinks, and their equivalent to house specials have all been very tasty. Staff is always friendly, and service is quick. I've been coming here since it opened thru the pandemic. I definitely enjoy this place."

"I visited LA Catrina back on February 3rd of 2023 for an employee celebration. I'll be honest, I'm not normally a fan of Hispanic restaurants. I find for myself the only thing I really enjoy is just getting a quesadilla which for me is just the equivalent of an American cheeseburger. It's simple and safe for my stomach. Upon arriving at the location parking was a slight challenge. Yet once I was inside the establishment I found it to be extremely spacious and the decor very vibrant. My coworkers were in another area of the restaurant that you can't see immediately upon entering in so there is more space than meets the eye. I decided on a quesadilla and seasoned rice. Now this is the first time I've ever had any type of Mexican rice to go along with my quesadilla. While waiting on my food I saw an appetizer that was being shared which is the platter in my pictures. It looked good but I did not try it out. I did also order a strawberry daiquiri which tasted amazing! The sweetness to alcohol ratio was perfect I had to hold myself off from finishing it before my food arrived to the table. My main meal does come out and it smelled wonderful. The rice was so pretty but again I was hesitant about trying it out. After the first bite I don't remember anything except my plate being completely empty. That quesadilla and rice was so amazing. I couldn't believe my eyes. Even my coworkers were cracking up because they know my personal preference when it comes to Hispanic dishes. This food is hands down the best restaurant I've been to in Saint Louis for this combo."

"Outstanding! Probably one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to. The food was fabulous. The corn chips were served warm with an excellent salsa. Both of our dishes were delicious and very flavorful. The service was absolutely incredible! The place was busy (late Saturday evening December 23rd) and absolutely everyone in this place was working hard and fast with an amazing attitude. All the staff we encountered was courteous, polite, had clean outfits, and extremely efficient! Amazing team work. We will absolutely come back!"

"OMG!! The steak tacos!!! So delicious! Typically I would eat the fish tacos but I tried the steak tacos and they are yummy!! I promise you won’t be disappointed! So delicious!"

"In a day and age where mexican restaurants are looking to trim costs on herbs, margaritas, cheese and service La Catrina is a welcomed cure for that. The service is excellent if you get the right waitress, the Margaritas are stellar when many others have changed recipes. The entrees and nachos are varied and flavorful. The decor is both full of group fun and still has a private vibe/corner. All in all it is an excellent addition to the area and well worth the drive. Having only had a few items it is hard to add constructive criticism but will update in the future."
