"In Short: NIHMS does not provide equipment in a timely fashion, does not follow up with customers, and must be bugged to get resolution. In Long: I was prescribed a CPAP machine on 2-22-22. The nurse warned me that it might take a little while. She faxed the order to NIHMS Sterling. I called NIHMS to verify the fax was received, and a snippy customer service rep was stated "it would be a couple of months" and that "there is a national shortage." I understood, so I waited. And waited. I never received a call or a letter from NIHMS to apprise me of the status of my machine. So, I finally called back, and had to leave a message for the person in charge of CPAP machines. ITM, I called Medicare to inquire about this problem, and the Medicare rep suggested I call Lynn Care in Rock Falls. I was able to speak with a rep at Lynn Care right away, and she indicated I could get one in the next few weeks! I called NIHMS to let them know to cancel my 4-month old order. The rep, Rick, was professional and apologetic, but did use the "there is a national shortage" excuse again. Bottom Line: There are other medical supply companies around."
"I highly recommend Northern Illinois Home Medical Supply. I dealt with Timothy Sadler. He was showing me how to use my CPAP Machine. He was a funny guy but he was also very professional. He was very easy to talk to and I felt very comfortable with him. He answered any questions or concerns about the CPAP machine. I wish all employees were like Tiny Tim! He was a great person to deal with. He definitely deserves a 10 for customer service."
"I wanted to purchase a pair of compression socks for my 84 year old friend. The Same Style She purchased previously, except she wants a large so she can get them on by herself. The mediums are too small. This company won't sell her the large because they said she needs the mediums! What the....?? They recommended we could go on line and buy these, but they wouldn't let me buy them!! So I found them on Amazon, have them shipped directly to my friend. What a strange way to turn away good business!! You want people to shop locally?? We tried....twice!"
"I was treated very badly by this company over a lost package that was mailed to me from them. I never received the package even though they have an e-mail saying I received it I DID NOT! So I got in argument with Melissa and she said I am no longer a customer of there company just like that she won't ever let me buy anything from them. WHAT THE over a lost package. Should they get paid from my insurance company if I did't receive package NO!! So I finally got the tracking number my daughter got it for me, and I am trying to track it. I do hope they find it. But people I'm telling you if one thing goes wrong this company will turn there back on you in a new york minute."
"Cant tell you how angry I am. I was billed by NIHMS after they claimed my insurance wouldn't pay. My invoice was from 5 months before and she told me the insurance would not ever respond to them. I called my insurance only to find out they only were billed for the first month. I asked the rude lady who questioned if I had enough money to pay, if it was billed correctly since I have 2 insurances, and she told me I had to figure it out myself. She was rude and wouldn't help at all. Some people should not be in customer service or billing at all. Im lucky I have such good insurance who is willing to stand up to this company. Makes me wonder how many other people they have screwed over and treated like dirt."
