Reviews of Old City Park
"We attended the candle light event and it was amazing. So much history and it feels as if you are in another era even though you are feet away from downtown. Everyone should go at least once."
"I am visiting from overseas and this is one of the best things to do in Dallas. So many old buildings to explore and interesting stories to learn about. You can find Gene down by the blacksmith shed. He was an awesome guy and great guide who ran me through the history of Texas, Dallas and all the buildings there. We even fed the sheep out the back. Would be a shame to lose this place with the contract expiring soon. Please save this park for future generations to enjoy."
"We had a good time here exploring all the old buildings and the stories behind. Definitely beyond our expectations and it’s free to visit. There is a free parking lot nearby. When we visited, there were some volunteers dressed in vintage clothes telling people stories about the building. And there will be public events sometimes just check their website. Overall it’s a quiet and fun place to visit!"
"We went here because it was included in our pogo pass and with least expectations. But we loved the concept, the history in each building they setup, the area with lot of trees and shade. It is no more included in pogo pass and is free entry and they are runing on donations. It is a gem in the middle of the city that needs to be preserved."
"We went to Old City Park as a "time filler," really not expecting much. I was glad that I was wrong, we spent a couple of hours here and would recommend it to anyone. The history behind these places and the snippets of info that tie larger parts of history to it are fascinating......and it's free!!! The actors there in dress, explaining certain buildings were entertaining as well. Unfortunately it sounds like the future of this place is in limbo and may not be around too much longer due to money concerns. Visit while you can."
