Reviews
"My review is based solely on one of NTA's representatives (Mr. Ketring). Upon further review of NTA, my own personal needs, and others' reviews of the company, I chose to not sign up for NTA's benefits. But, Mr. Ketring would have been my go-to person for sure had I found a need for the services. His passion for the company and his belief in the company is outstanding. In all of my conversations with him in the last two weeks, he has never come off to me as someone who just wants me to sign up for NTA; he was thoughtful, kind, personable and heard both my pros and cons. He did not make excuses where he could have made excuses. Mr. Ketring needs to be at the top of this company and maybe just maybe the reviews of the company overall would improve."
"This company takes excessive time to process claims for short term disability. Upon submitting my claim, I was told it would take 15-20 business days to process. Two weeks later the claims department requested additional records from my surgeon. They basically sent an additional form to my surgeon, which asked for the same information included on the original claim form. When they received that form, the processing time restarted, adding 15-20 more business days. That was 8 business days ago. Today, I called for an update. I was told that my claim was selected for additional review, which would take 6-8 weeks. I have not been able to work for 6 weeks and have had no income. This company does not care about customers and seems to avoid providing the benefits they claim to provide. If you're considering taking out a policy with NTA, don't. Find another company!"
"LESS THAN ONE STAR - DO NOT PURCHASE ANY INSURANCE FROM THIS COMPANY. They will give you the run-a-round for months and will not pay you what you are due. They ask for the same information dozens of times, ask for the same forms to be completed over and over and then pay you the minimum amount because they can't understand the documents you submitted. Their website is useless - you have to call to get any information. The poor people answering the phones are nice as can be - it is a shame they work for such a SHADY COMPANY."
"First, let me begin by saying I am mad at myself for not checking the reviews on this company BEFORE getting a policy with them. I am highly disappointed in this company and my experience with this company. The “we pay money directly to you when you need it most” is the BiGGEST lie ever! Just selling a pipe dream. When I called them numerous of times about the claim on my son, they kept giving me the run around. Then when I submitted the paperwork, they would say that it would be 10-15 business days from that date to process the paperwork. This went on for weeks. In the meantime, I contacted my agent. He seemed willing to help me at first when I told him what was going on. He asked that I call him back in 48hrs if I hadn’t received anything from NTA. Well, I called him, left a voicemail for him, and texted him. Still haven’t heard back from him. Just sad! This company is sad! I wasn’t valued as a customer and when I tried to complain the lady ((whom called herself a manager) talked crazy to me. Again, sad! Clearly, they don’t want any customers because our premiums keep them employed. I refuse to give them another dime. Canceling my policy and if you are smart, you will join me. Like someone else stated, they don’t deserve 1 star. The rating would really be 0 stars. Your agent, Laila, was the ONLY agent who appeared to want to be helpful. Kudos to him! Also, I have informed several coworkers about you all’s business practices and they are cancelling as well. Remember, word of mouth is SO important. You all need to look at your business practices. The fact that you all do not respond to your reviews says a lot as well."
"If you are looking to put your trust into a company who will pay for short term disability, this is not the one for you. Read the reviews below, also. I am not the only one to have issues. I put in a claim for two weeks leave for foot surgery the end of February. May 11, and still waiting. They drag their feet. They do not pay. They claim that documents were not received from my surgeon. The surgeon's secretary showed me the fax receipt. I had him refax and called and complained. Suddenly the docs appeared. They never told me they wanted my Primary Care info until APRIL. The salesperson was all about how fast the short term disability is paid if there is no preexisting condition. Hogwash."
