"I wave at the train going by everyday. One day, one of the Union Pacific conductors waved back and made my entire day, especially being a fan of trains. It's a long shot, but I want to find out who the conductor was. (He works for Union Pacific) This happened about a month ago. The train goes behind a building everyday and I love watching it go by. Thank you for doing what you do for us!"
"I'm sure the employees are great people. However, our neighborhood has a single way out and UP regularly blocks the tracks, sometimes up to 4 hours. When we call, they don't care and are unresponsive. We have had ambulances and firetrucks stuck waiting on the train. Kids that have missed school events. Even wedding coordinators that have missed weddings. What does it take to get them to change something? I'm guessing they wouldn't enjoy all of us showing up outside their office."
"Heed the warnings some reviewers have left. We are all trainchasers thanks to my son (he has sent letters to UP). We have family who have worked/still working for SP/UP. We are WELL AWARE of the dangers and stay far away. It would be nice if the yards would send alerts on special engines (heritage units) entering their yards. We chased the Katy yesterday, since it was last spotted in Bellmead I’m guessing it backed all the way out of the Davidson east and then south into the Ney Yard. We DID catch it just west of Hulen yesterday. My son wants a viewing platform in the Davidson Yard. I’m wondering why UP even has Heritage Units if it wasn’t just for PR. It would also be nice if there was a viewing platform (as my son has asked). Chasing trains has taught my son about maps and how fast these engines get around. Maybe one day we’ll catch that Southern Pacific heritage unit. Kids and grown kids just like trains."
"I'm just a train enthusiast. I stay a safe distance away which is highly recommended! To see the trains sitting still or moving down the tracks you can feel the power they have. I love waving at the conductor and they blow their horn at you. This is a great yard to view trains but don't go onto the yard! Stay a safe distance."
"Unprofessional work behavior. Train conductor playing train horn music tones to each other past 10pm. There is no need for this behavior. This is a quiet zone after 10pm. You need not to blare horns as the private road that goes from the new toll way to Rogers road are now blocked by your train crossing gates. Stop blaring horns past 10pm to amuse yourselves and annoy others."
