Save your money and go to PGASuperstore. I would have payed $2000 less for the exact same clubs and fitting process. When I picked up these fancy new clubs, they were loosely bundles together in a rubber band with some bubble wrap. Just a terrible experience all around."

For context, in the past I’ve tried the majority of your big box stores like PGA Superstore, Golf Galaxy, Edwin Watts, etc. I’ve even been to places like GOLFTEC and purchased clubs from them. Only to regret the experience AND the clubs I purchased. I was tired of dealing with fitters who lacked proper knowledge, lacked experience, and/or presented brand bias in the fitting. So, I researched who and where would deliver best-in-class quality at the best price, while still delivering optimal results in my golf equipment. Sounds difficult, right? It wasn’t easy, but I analyze and research for a living, so I was up to the task. For the record, I am extremely cost conscious. I’m not the type of person to spend money for the sake of spending. First and foremost, I value quality. Quality in a service and quality in products delivered. Just because something is ‘cheaper’ does not mean it’s better. For those of you who argue that you can buy a set of irons from ‘XYZ’ retail store at a lower price, doesn’t mean that those suit you best. There are so many factors to consider when purchasing golf clubs such as loft, lie, length, flex, shaft weight, swing weight, flex point, graphite, steel, etc. With hundreds of shaft options and thousands of variable compositions, it can be overwhelming to think about which composition suits you best, so leave that to someone who does it for a living! Nick Chandler at Club Champion went above and beyond in all aspects of the fitting. I elected to conduct a full-bag fitting, so, at the very least, I could check each facet of my bag. Nonetheless, I opted to focus on driver, irons, and my putter. Several days prior to my fitting, Nick emailed me inquiring about my game and my goals for the fitting. Then upon arrival, we discussed in detail my expectations for the experience. Ladies and gentleman, you’re not getting this level of service at any of the aforementioned stores. If you’re searching for a fitter who’s experienced, knowledgable, an expert in their field, doesn’t illustrate brand-bias, and someone who is friendly, easy to work with, communicates effectively, honest, patient, respectful, and prioritizes what’s best for your game, then Nick Chandler is your guy! Over the course of the fitting, Nick made choices that would optimize my golf game. He wasn’t pushing me towards specific brands or towards high-priced equipment. Each decision was based on whether it would improve my game or not, that’s it. In all honesty, I am a difficult person to work with, but Nick handled it like a champion and took it in stride. During the putter portion of my fitting, we first analyzed my performance with the putter from my bag. After trying several different things and speaking about my tendencies, Nick had an idea. He asked if I would be interested in bending my putter 1-degree flat and adding some weight to the head to see if it changes corrected my issue. Lo and behold, that solved my problem! We conducted an additional analysis and discovered my strike pattern had improved and tightened my stroke pattern exponentially. These changes costed me ZERO extra dollars. Nick could have sold me a heavier putter, but instead he didn’t charge me anything; however, the end result is me being better equipped to make putts. If any of you are wondering, yes, I did buy clubs after this fitting and I’m ecstatic with my purchase! I ended up buying a set of irons and a driver. I WILL be back later when I decide to replace my fairway woods. Yesterday, I pulled the trigger on a new set of irons. I went to Nick with an open mind and let him go to work for me.
