"We spend 4 hours to sing here, many people sang 4 or 5 times, but the DJ didn't allow us to sing again because of rotation. Don't go there and waste your time trying to sing. The DJ has no brains and was very rude to customers, when raised with the manager of the bar ( a bar tender w pink hair) she defend him and let him do as he wanted; avoid this place, not worth it."
"Good bar; good quality atmosphere. The issue is that the KJ doesn’t seem to know much about karaoke rotation. Rather than adding new singers into the current rotation or the next one, we were told it would be 2.5 hours. We left; no sense in waiting that long."
"I recently had a truly disheartening experience at Ego's Karaoke Bar, largely due to the behavior of the tall skinny door man. I must say that his demeanor was not only rude and nasty but also exuded negative energy throughout my visit. This encounter left such a lasting negative impression on me that I am compelled to share my experience and express my strong reluctance to ever return to the establishment, despite having spent a significant amount of money there for parties in the past. From the moment I stepped foot into Ego's Karaoke Bar, it was clear that the tall skinny door man had no interest in providing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. His disrespectful attitude and condescending tone were evident, making me feel unwelcome and undervalued as a customer. It is disheartening to encounter such unprofessional behavior, especially when one has spent considerable time and money at a particular establishment. Not only was the door man rude, but his negative energy seemed to permeate the entire bar. His demeanor created an uncomfortable and unpleasant environment for everyone in attendance. It is important for any venue, especially one that relies on customer satisfaction and repeat business, to have staff members who contribute positively to the overall experience. Unfortunately, the tall skinny door man at Ego's Karaoke Bar did the exact opposite. As a customer who has invested thousands of dollars in parties at Ego's Karaoke Bar, it is disheartening to realize that despite my loyalty, I am subjected to such disrespectful treatment. It is clear that the management at this establishment needs to address the behavior of their staff, particularly the door man, in order to maintain a positive reputation and retain valued customers."
"This place used to be awesome. For a few years I would go here every weekend when I lived in Austin. It had been a few years since I had been and was visiting from out of town. I was planning on singing a few songs and having a good time, but before I even got up to sing, I was approached by a bartender and told that I needed to "quiet down." I went to the bar a few songs later and asked calmly and politely "hey I'm just trying to understand what I did wrong? Do y'all get noise complaints or something?" I was told that yelling too loud during other peoples' songs was distracting and that I needed to take it down a notch. I was confused because I was yelling in support of other people singing songs, but I guess things are different now from the dozens of times I had been before, so I obeyed and didn't yell in support of any of the other singers. I sang my song, (Breathe (2am) by Anna Nalick) and stuck around for a good number of other songs after I was done, clapping for people but trying hard to avoid being loud enough to illicit a reaction from the bar staff. When I was ready to leave, I told the bartender "I would've bought a lot more drinks if you had let me have a good time." They responded "If you don't like the like the way we do things, you can leave and never come back. You're obnoxious." I've been called obnoxious before, but I was surprised that having a good time was something that was "Against the way Ego's does things" apparently. I wasn't belligerently drunk, I was trying to support other people and get the crowd into it. It seemed like the manager was having a bad day. I hope things get better for them and that this bar can once again be a fun place to visit. I won't be returning per their request, but for others I would hope that this place can give you as many good times as I've had there, besides the recent regrettable experience that I had. Peace and love, a person who loves karaoke, but is apparently too obnoxious for the new version of Ego's. RIP."
"Very friendly people & awesome bartenders, Shout out to Kelly! Pink princess. Great crowd. Not judgmental. Fun! Kelly makes great drinks. I’ve been to bars all over the world. She’s good."
