"I came from Fenton Missouri to order a deluxe Pizza to take to Swansea Illinois 30 mi away. I got the pizza to my mother's house who specifically requested it and the pizza had no bacon nor Canadian bacon, and minimal sausage. I could see the cook through the window and he was not wearing gloves and was busy shoving food into his mouth while prepping another order. I wonder if that was our missing ingredients? We won't be returning and have been coming in for at least 40 years. Very dissatisfied."
"Don't go here unless you have a lot of time. The burger was overcooked and way too much blue cheese, had to scrape some off for it to become edible. Lousy service, food was brought out cold even though it took forever, and the waitress disappeared for a long period of time. Had to go up to the bar for another drink. They had poker on the TV with the sound turned down. How interesting. There is no reason to go here. Nothing at all is good about it. Oh yeah, now that I see I can edit, let me add that I asked for water that never came, one burger was supposed to have bacon on it but only the bill had it, and they glued deer antlers on a cow moose mount above the door. The jackalope mount was authentic, though."
"The bacon pizza is dare I say— is like the adult version of Imos pizza. Crispy thin crust pizza with provel cheese. I returned my meal and and it was comped. I was grateful. Out of everything we tried, the pizza really stole the show!"
"Our first visit tonight. Came because it's in the Pizza Passport. Ordered thin crust bacon, pepperoni , and green pepper with extra sauce, only mozzarella. Did not disappoint - their sauce is incredibly good, crust was hand rolled and crispy, tho the middle didn't hold up as well to our extra sauce. But that's on us. We started with the tavern eggs (scotch eggs), which were very good. Service was great. It was very loud and chilly in there tonight, which isn't the best atmosphere for a date. I'm going to come back another time when hopefully it's less loud."
"I love this place. My wife and I went on a Saturday, for my birthday. I specifically wanted to try their brain sandwich. I like to try unusual foods! This an old-time local pub, my favorite type of restaurant. It was cozy with all the typical trappings of a well-established, older restaurant-bar; I'd call it family-friendly. The brain sandwich was deep-fried, smothered in onions and brown mustard. It was surprisingly good - I'd order it again. My wife had the Reuben and said it was delicious. The bar tender was very nice... all in all this was a great experience, a fun birthday. I'll go back!"
