"My employer switched to Optum RX and filling my husbands diabetic meds has been impossible ever since. They sent a “your PA has been APPROVED. You may fill your prescription” message, then cancelled the approval less than 2 hours later. They’ve clearly off-shored all of their customer service and it shows. They only want to transfer you until they can disconnect the line. My husband has now been without 2 of his 3 diabetes meds for over 3 months. If your company switches to them….just find a different job or die waiting for their incompetence to improve."
"I wish I could give a positive review, but given how I was treated by Yaz J. when trying to resolve my prior authorization for over a month with her snide tone and unwillingness to help? I recommend you go anywhere but Optum Rx. My physician refuses to deal with them after her assistant sat on hold for over three hours and still didn't get a simple prior authorization approved. They are the most uncaring, unsupportive, rude, and indignant group of people in the healthcare industry I have tried to deal with as a nurse in practice for 33 years. Let that sink in: the worst in over 33 years, and what's worse? I currently work for Optum in a different department."
"I had to call them 4 times this morning to get a refill. Each time I was told a different thing. On the 4th call i was told they were out of my medication and it was going to be long term. After talking to another retail provider who was given a phone number for me to call I now have to get the other retail provider to call yet another number to get an override. This is crazy and extremely annoying."
"Can I give Optum RX a negative 10?! I have had it with them and refuse to ever work with this company again. They have the WORST customer service agents around. They never understand what I am asking about and it’s quite simple considering it is regarding insurance and prescriptions which is what they are supposed to do. They could NOT figure out a primary and secondary plan for me. After 4 months I finally was told they would zero out the balance. Today I find out the balance is still there. Incompetent incompetent incompetent company. And what’s worse is some insurance actually require you to use them for mail order. I guess I’ll be going back to Walmart for RX pickups cause you couldn’t pay me to work with this company again."
