"Truly a terrible experience as a first time mother. She doesn’t care or make you feel comfortable. I’m honestly happy she didn’t deliver my daughter. My entire pregnancy she mostly talked about “being black” & her daughter being pregnant… she treated me as if I was ignorant to my body and feelings. There’s so much more I can say but I’ll stop here. I’m only leaving 1 star because there wasn’t a “zero” option."
"This is in no way about the doctor but the front desk staff. I called and spoke with Jackie and told her I was running late, she said as long as I don’t go over 10:45A due to other appointments. I arrived at 10:45 on the dot, paid my copay, sat down. She had no friendly demeanor and nonchalant. Turns out the girl who checked me in did so after looking at her cell phone so according to the other lady at the front desk I was checked in at 10:47A. I explained to her what I was told and she was nonchalant and insisted on saying “you got here at 10:45” so if I got there on time like I was advised why not see me. I wasn’t able to see anyone for what I was there for. I could have just rescheduled and not wasted my gas or time while dealing with pain. Now they expect me to wait until August even though I’m in pain and lacked empathy and trying to find a better resolution than “just wait until August”."
"Saw this doctor when I got pregnant with my 1st child. From the 1st impression she seemed pretty cold and short in conversation. Not very friendly at all. Towards the end of my pregnancy I mentioned having painful UTI symptoms and I ended up testing positive for one. I was told that she would prescribe me antibiotics but it never happened. Thank god it seemed to have cleared on its own as I don’t know what could have happened to my baby if it worsened. Fast forward to 6 weeks after i had my daughter i went in to get a IUD birth control device put in. During the procedure I mentioned feeling faint from the pain and Dr Thompson said it would be good if i did as it would make her job easier…very professional. There are much better doctors out there to choose from if you are looking for someone to treat you and your unborn baby. I definitely learned my lesson and would recommend no one go to Latricia Thompson if they can help it."
"Let me start by saying that if you are overweight, you should avoid Dr. Thompson completely; she will make you feel worse about it and try several times to get you to get the most invasive birth control out there, an IUD. That being said, I only kept her around just in case I ever needed and actual OBGYN for labs, etc, but I will be finding a new one. When I first saw her in 2019, I asked her to prescribe the mini pill that I had been on a few years before. I pick up my prescription, and it was just the regular pill. I didn't bother taking it, and at the time, I just let it go. Fast forward to January of this year, I see her again. At this point, I had been getting my birth control from The Pill Club (now Favor), which is a website. She asked me whether or not I wanted to keep getting the birth control from the website, or if I wanted her to prescribe it. I specifically said (remember, she has already prescribed me the wrong birth control) that I would continue to get it from the website I was using. A few weeks later, a month supply of birth control is delivered to my door. I looked into where this birth control came from, as it was a different brand than I had been using. Of course, it was ordered by Dr. Thompson against my request. I didn't think much of it until earlier this week when I'm near the end of my birth control pack, and Favor has not sent me my next pack. Long story short, insurance would not cover Favor to send me my birth control I had already been using because this doctor had ordered birth control I didn't ask for. I call her office to ask her nurse if it would be okay for me to switch between brands and her response was "it should be okay". Should be? At any rate, my birth control schedule is now thrown off because of her. Also during my visit in January, I wanted to have some labs drawn. I clarify with the doctor after my exam of where the lab is. She gave me directions of which turns to make in the hall. I get to the lab and there's no order for my labs. The phlebotomist checks with the doctor and the doctor said I didn't need any labs....so why send me to the lab? Overall, I just wouldn't recommend her, and especially like I said, if you are overweight. She does not listen and will just do whatever she wants to do."
"Dr. Thompson was my OBGYN for my very first pregnancy and was wonderful up until my delivery. I was in the hospital for 3 long days before having to have a cesarean. Once my cesarean was completed I did not see nor hear from my doctor until 5 WEEKS LATER!! After my surgery was completed she never once came to my recovery room, never came to speak to me after the surgery, and never told me I needed to follow up with her 2 weeks after. A family member told me 5 weeks after having my baby that I was supposed to have a 2 week check up. I called Dr. Thompson’s office and they scheduled me to come in. Once there Dr. Thompson never checked my scar, never confirmed I healed properly, nothing! When telling her my concerns with how I was feeling with postpartum depression and being overwhelmed she simply said “it will get better” and left the room. I did not feel taken care of, honestly after she got her delivery fee taken care of and the delivery of my baby I didn’t hear from her anymore. I will NEVER use her again. Do yourself a favor and find a better OBGYN, I know I am."
