"If you are low income or have no income and have mental health issues this is the place to come. It takes a while for the first initial appointment. However after that they will help with free medication for your mental health issues, help with housing assistance and other assistance is available through them."
"Showed up today to get my medication and was told they couldn’t see me today with no reasoning as to why. The wait room had about 7 people in it. I was then told even if i call before they cannot guarantee they will see me when I come in but I still have to drive all the way downtown to get here just to be told they won’t see me, it’s only 12 pm. I asked if I came first thing when they opened if they could see me and they said nothing is guaranteed. it has taken me 3 months of waiting to get into Carelink, get into primary care and get a referral for my already diagnosed condition. Why is it so difficult to get mental health care? How do you expect people to be productive members of society with mental Health conditions if they cannot rapidly get access to medications and care ?"
"I was looking for a psychiatrist when I was referred to the Paul Elizondo Clinic. It was the worst experience I've ever seen or been through!! The facility was obviously not complying with safety and sanitation rules! There was hair all over the seats and the floor, the restroom was filthy and smelled HORRIBLE. I understand that the clinic is there to help but there's no reason for them to act the way they do! The front staff are very polite people, it's the actual P.As or Drs that are the ones being unprofessional from what I experienced that day. I was there for 4 hours for the final step of the intake process which is where you come in on a first come first serve basis. Well when they FINALLY called me back, she asked a few questions and said unfortunately there wasn't enough assessment intake coordinators working that day to setup the appointment!! I was infuriated!!! I was there for 4 hours for that!? Then said I would have to come in until I was lucky enough to be able to get thru to get to the coordinator to get the appointment!!! Can you believe that!?! If I remember her name I would post it because that was VERY VERY unprofessional!! And she was very rude!!"
"I have insurance but I can't be paying co-pays. I have no source of income and barely living with a certain amount, calculating what I have until my case wins, and unlucky finding a job. Until then I'm screwed being charged to see doctors $55 per visit and they claim they have a pay fee scale. I should be paying $0 for the amount of income I make. Which is none. It's hard for me to believe the finance department. Are they helping or only making my life miserable with countless charges?"
"I don’t want to say the word “normal” but for someone who has no health issues this place is disorganized. I normally take and make appointments for my loved one because he’s been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. I did not get to go with him to his appointment yesterday because I’m currently the only one who’s working at the moment due to his condition. When I came home from work after he went he told me he was never seen or called back and it was 5pm so he left. Mind you his appointment was at 3. I understand the location and most people walking in needed some kind of help. My loved one is mentally one of them who needs assurance. All notes aside, they rescheduled him for the next day, today. I was able to take the day off and take him. When I went with him. All his information was wrong. From my loved ones address, phone number and the gentleman even asked how I was making his appointments if I was not authorized. Luckily today Patricio was super kind and helpful. He was able to correct all paperwork. However, the rest of the staff were eating pizza, talking, a young lady in the front was hugging a gentleman who had his edges shaved and his hair slicked back with glasses. It was a bit upsetting having to show up at 3 for a rescheduled appointment and be the second to last one to leave past 5. While talking to Patricio, some of the lady staff seemed to have been distracted by the sheriffs there. Are name tags also not a thing? Rob at the front was very sweet. He helped and approach patients who needed assistance. A gentleman in a Spurs Robinson jersey, facial piercing was also very helpful. Everything went well after but it’s sad how I had to be there to get my loved one seen. I hope future patients get a better experience. I was sent to this location from another clinic and comparing them, this one was not too professional."
