Holiday Inn Countryside

"My primary concern is about safety. The female front desk staff in the evenings told my friend and I - two young females - our room number, out loud, in a room full of men. The other staff did this as well, which is concerning and I have never had a hotel do that before. That is a definite safety issue. The pool, which was a primary reason this hotel was chosen, was closed. The contract with the hotel (for an event) also stipulated that we would receive free breakfast. That was not honored by the staff or manager. Very far from transportation - Lyft and Uber don’t like to drive this far from the airport or Amtrak station, so book that ahead of time."

"Very disappointed! My soldier came back and wanted to enjoy what was once his favorite hotel and when i booked nowhere do they tell you or does it say it on their website that their pool is closed and has been since September 2023 because of bacteria issues. 5 months later and the issue isn’t fixed?They fail to mention during booking so you’re stuck booking a hotel for the amenities just to come and find out none of them are available. They have elevators that do not work either. It’s very disappointing that this was suppose to be an amazing weekend and now it’s just a weekend of frustration because they lead you to believe they have an Olympic size pool and wait until you check in to have you find out that it isn’t open. This is something they should tell you on their website before you book. I feel like i was completely ripped off because i could’ve booked anywhere else but now it’s too late considering most places around are booked. Also the room didn’t look like it was actually cleaned the pillow cases looked dirty(luckily i brought my own pillow)There were only 2 towels that we had to ask for more. They didn’t have a blow dryer in the room or trash bag so i had to keep calling or walking down for things. The one time they said they would bring missing items to me they took longer than 35 min to bring it. The Dove products they put in the bathroom aren’t even Dove . They refill the containers with a different type of cheaper product. I brought my own things but don’t lie to the people and make them believe you are providing Dove products(it’s obvious it’s not Dove even if you don’t use dove a lot). Most of the channels on the tv didn’t even work. This whole experience was horrible and i felt bad for my soldier who spoke so highly about this hotel just to come home from a deployment to something that was nothing near what he remembers it to be."

"First time here since the renovation. I came often when it was William Tell. The update is beautiful the rooms look much nicer and have comfortable furniture. I booked 4 rooms for my family to have some pool fun over this artic freeze weather to be told pools are closed!!!! NO refunds no discounts nothing. Right after we checked in we were told this!!! I'm very disappointed and hope this can be fixed. I'm a holiday Inn rewards member as well and never had any problems with holiday Inn other than today."

"It used to be so much nicer. O pool anymore! No hot tubs! My friend wo rented the room was really put off after the fact but stayed anyway. Rooms were clean and fresh although it's not worth what she paid. The buffet was alright. They need to fix the pool and hot tubs or close. Lots of men down by the front door smoking g outside. Gross."

"Hi. I just wanted to compliment you on the addition of the jazz group in the lobby. It completely changed the ambiance and the wine was great too :). We noticed a couple checking in towards the end of the entertainment, and the group played an additional couple of songs so the couple could drop their luggage in their room and come down for some music and wine. Nice touch! Well done!"
