"We were a party of 10 who went here during Chicago restaurant week. We had a reservation and were given a very nice corner table next to large windows. The food choices were good, taste was excellent and portions were adequate. Service was slow, which is the only quibble I had. Else I highly recommend this restaurant."
"We found out about el Tapeo through Chicago Restaurant Week. What a hidden gem! Located on the 9th floor of the Méredien Hotel at Oakbrook Mall with a view of Oakbrook and Elmhurst with the twinkling distant lights of planes from O’Hare Airport. The menu started with a charcuterie plate and sangria. We followed with tapas-portions were generous and flavorful. Croquettes de Setas (mushrooms) and Alcachofa(crispy artichokes) were a delicious surprise. We didn’t have room for our Paella and took it home. But the Valor Chocolate cake says it all-it was worth it-chocolate cream, peanut butter powder crunch. Chef Billy put together a great menu. Check it out!"
"Went here on a date with my husband and had a wonderful time. The restaurant is on the 9th floor of the Le Meridien hotel. We may have gone overboard and ordered a lot because everything on the menu sounded amazing. It is tapas so I suggest just ordering a couple and go from there. Everything we ordered was absolutely fantastic! Their drinks were very good as well. I had the eternal sunrise and my husband had the old fashion and enjoyed them both. We had the lemon and amaretto gelato for dessert which was also delicious. The service was great and helpful and kind. Enjoyed the atmosphere very much. Bathrooms were also very nice and clean. Highly recommend this place and to try and go if you’re able to or in the area."
"Pretty good whiskey selection and the Tapas is so good. I've never tried any of their meals because I continue ordering various combinations of Tapas. Last night we had Bone Marrow, Potatoes, Pork Belly, Short Ribs and the goat cheese queso and left empty plates across the table ."
"Really good. When we arrived it was on the hotel. I was like Nah that is Captive audience. But to my surprise it is on the 9th floor with summer views of amazing Chicago. Service was good and food was good. Mezcal old fashion, mushroom croquettes and marrow bone ( OMG) were our favorites We will be back"
