Jerky Jerk Rolling Meadows

"I didn't even know this place existed. I get tired of pizza, burgers, Chinese... Etc. My husband joked that we should get Caribbean food. I looked and was surprised there was Caribbean-ish food so close to us. The menu looked great, so we decided to order dinner. We each ordered the 2 meat/2 side dinner. The photo shown is a little less than half of my food. I had the white meat jerk chicken along with the chicken stew meat. It comes with 2 sides but I wanted to try their other sides so I ordered a couple extra. The white meat is an up-charge. The amount of food was very generous. We each only ate half of our food. I'm no Caribbean food expert but I know what tastes good, and this food tasted good. The chicken was tender and nicely seasoned. My husband got the jerk and fried chicken. He enjoyed the fried chicken as well. He said the yams were really good too. We each had Mac and cheese, pretty standard but good. I also had extra sides to try. I thought the rice was really good as was the Cabbage. The plantains were perfectly cooked too. I'm not sure if it's authentic or not, but I do know that the food is good. We both enjoyed it and will be back again."

"Not sure what all the bad reviews are about but I def recommend this place. As a fellow chef I’d say the food was excellent, curry goat and Mac & cheese would be the only things I’d give a 3.5/5 from what I ordered. Do note it is a new restaurant but also a scratch kitchen. For those who don’t understand that concept, food takes longer to come out because nothing is coming out a bag. So I advice ordering ahead of time if you don’t have the time to wait. Needless to say I’ll be back. We ordered the 3plates of 2 meats & sides, jerk chicken 4/5, jerky fried chicken 5/5, curry goat 3.5/5, Mac & cheese 3.5/5, coleslaw, beef patty 5/5, plantains 4.4/5, cabbage 4/5, jerky egg rolls 5/5, would do a mango chutney instead of the salsa type side."

"Jerky Jerk is a nice addition! Food was delicious. Staff was helpful with decisions - too many tasty options! I had the 2 meat/2 side plate with fried jerk chicken and the stew with rice and macaroni as my sides. Very flavorful and nicely prepared. It did take quite a while to get the food from time of order ~about 35 minutes, but it was very tasty so I’m willing to forget about the wait - worth it! I will definitely be back to Jerky Jerk but recommend ordering ahead if you’re in a time crunch. They have some fun boozy drinks to help with the wait too. I did not try those but I might have to get the Panty Dropper or Mango Smoothie on the next trip. Both looked great!"
