"We just spent approximately $700 to have this location service our John Deere tractor. This is something we did every year with the same dealership. The second time we used the tractor after being serviced, the deck froze up. My husband took the tractor in and they determined that the gearbox in the deck had frozen up and the oil was completely gone. Had there been an oil leak, this was something that should have been noticed during the routine maintenance procedure, especially when the technician informed us that he had pulled the gearbox off and filled it with gear lube. When doing this he should have noticed that the seal was leaking and repaired it at that time. Now, we were informed that it was going to cost $1,400 to repair the gearbox. This is why we had our tractor serviced annually, so as to avoid problems like this."
