"Completely underwhelmed with the tasteless tonkatsu and miso ramen. Pretty sure dish water would have been an improvement. The teriyaki beef in my husband’s soup was the highlight. I’d file under don’t bother plus feels like cultural appropriation."
"My first time at Gung Ho and it was a happy discovery. I ordered Taro and also Banana Milk Tea with tapioca and they were delicious! I'll be back ASAP to try some of the amazing looking ramen and the appetizers and Mongolian grill. The restaurant smelled amazing and the staff couldn't have been nicer."
"Gung Ho is a trendy restaurant and hang out cafe with anime playing on a few TV screens. Food includes ramen, udon, custom stir-fried dishes, smoothies, milk teas, fruit teas, and even poke bowls. We got a tonkotsu ramen, a shoyu ramen, a custom stir fry with udon and beef w/beef seasoning & teriyaki sauce, edamame. We got a glass bottled Coke and brown sugar milk tea with boba. (Wished there were more customizations in sweetness level and ice level). Side note, they also had Ramune+ Their feel is like a cool hang spot with good food, some board games, and anime decor. Good for friends, families, couples, etc. Mostly wooden booth seating. Each table has a sketch book and color pencils for some doodling. Lovely and will be back! Clean bathrooms. Easy parking."
"I had a spicy tonkotsu ramen with pork. I personally really loved it. This place is great! It seems to have a steady flow of people in and out. There were no issues grabbing a seat but the music was a bit loud (not like I wanted to converse after seeing my food….priorities). I would definitely go back."
"I was feeling very under the weather and wanted something that’ll give me a boost. I’ve always wanted to try ramen in the suburbs because I’ve lived in the city for most of my adult life and Bolingbrook FINALLY has gotten on board with diversity. I was greeted by a younger guy and he helped me put together a nice ramen bowl since I don’t eat pork. I ordered the Kim & Fried Chicken Ramen and substituted it with the vegetable stock. It was so flavorful and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The Kimchi had a nice spicy kick to it. Portion size was definitely enough for two people to share! I also got the shrimp dumplings and they were mini and sorta bland, wouldn’t get it again. However, the sauce it came with was really good so it made up for the blandness when dipped in sauce. I ordered to-go but once I saw how nice the inside was, I regretted not dining in! It’s so pretty and bright and clean inside and they offer a water stand with cups so you can self serve. When my order was ready the nice girl gave me a free Milk Tea and it was actually my favorite flavor. I appreciate her for that, she was adorbs. I’ll definitely be coming back. I think my total was around $24? Good prices for the quality in my opinion."
