Reviews of Botanical Cafe
"This is a lovely cafe and I have had very pleasant experiences in the past and recommend the cafe very often. Today was not the case (although the iced melon tea was delicious) and I will not go back, will not recommend, and have called family and friends to ask them to stop going there as well. This is due to the extremely rude manager as well as both associates behind the counter - I was a paying customer!!!! I bought an iced tea and my friend purchased a drink and a sandwich - spend $17. Because of dietary restrictions, I brought my own yogurt from home . The manager said since we sell food you can't bring in your own. I told him my situation and thought we were good - far from it - he approached me again - this time quite rude. It would be different if I did not order anything. I have gone to many cafes all over the city and brought a small yogurt with me and there has never been an issue. The manager said something about it being illegal from the health department and what I found on line was this: "It's not illegal but a restaurant can ask you to stop eating your food." And Botanical Cafe decided to give a paying customer a very uncomfortable experience. I also found this: The American Disabilities Act clearly stats that if this is a working meal that said person can bring their own food if it is due to an allergy or auto immune disease that is protected by the ADA. Places of public accommodation that have policies prohibiting customers from bringing in outside food may need to make modifications to allow allergic individuals equal access and take steps to ensure individuals with a disability are not excluded from participation and access. See 42 U.S.C. §12181(b)(2)."
"Interesting atmosphere- loads of plants. I went for a study session with a friend. It was raining pretty heavily outside but with the plants and decor it really was a dope vibe. We ordered a few drinks- really tasty, and I ordered the BLT sandwich which was good! But —whoever is behind the aux cord is mad wild- we had hardcore rap, Bach, 2000s pop, emo music, and house music. I couldn’t keep up but I respect it. Check this place out!"
"This place reminds me of fluoride free toothpaste because it provides a breath of fresh air! Literally and figuratively. If you are looking to enjoy a drink and food while working or studying there is no better place for your mental well being. The inside is laced with beautiful plants and you can instantly feel your body relax breathing in freshly produced plant oxygen. I got the chai tea latte that had a little twist with a couple of spicier notes but was perfectly balanced out by the sweetness. The drink and the first sip itself was pure adrenaline into my veins because of this enticing new flavor. I could not recommend this place more."
"I would give a million stars if I could. I had two tiered tea events here. One was for my friend’s engagement and the other for my birthday (private event) The owner was super nice and helpful. The fact they printed happy birthday on the tea menu made me wanna cry because it’s such a mild thing but it meant a lot. Thank you again so much!"
"Cutest cafe with plants and other fun gifts all around that you can actually buy! Drinks are delicious and affordable. The vibe is immaculate, but we came when it was quite busy so we didn’t snag a seat"
