"It was Tuesday, so I had to have tacos. My favorite taco recently has been shrimp. Most of the places I frequent, add large grilled tacos. I was surprised to see small shrimp bites here at Casa Romero. They may have been small, but the flavor was still huge and enjoyable. I'd order them again. When I arrived, I was pleasantly greeted and told I could sit any where I wanted. I chose a booth and was quickly served complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were crisp and warm, which tells me they were super fresh. The salsa had just enough spice and was thick enough to cling to the chip when dipping. Before my entree, I also enjoyed a Top Shelf Margarita and an order of Bean Dip. The Margarita was strong. It was strong enough that I only had one and I typically enjoy two. An order of Bean Dip for me is much more enjoyable than a side of Cheese Dip or Guacamole. The mixture of white cheese and refried beans, doubles the flavor. The ambiance is your typical, bright Mexican colors and sorta tacky decor. For my own personal preference, I could dim the lights a tad. It was extremely bright and the white ceiling lights are a little overpowering."

"This is our go-to Mexican spot in the Wood River/East Alton/Bethalto area. Service is always prompt, friendly, and accurate. Sometimes we go here for our work lunch and can be in and out within 30 minutes. Food is fantastic with a fairly standard menu. Margaritas are great as well! Try the steak burrito! It's LOADED with steak!"

"Great affordable food. I like the side of vegetables and cheese sauce, which makes for a great side. The salsa and chips are fresh. The Margaritas are some of the best that I have had and very affordable. Would definitely recommend"

"You enter from the the side. We enter and were greated with friendly smiles. I had the number 19 combo which is a chimi, tostado and a taco, I added grilled jalapeños (worth it). My partner had the pork carnatas special which was fantastic. The beans had a great flavor. Check out the pictures. Follow me im always traveling and trying new places."

"Wife ordered food through Door Dash! There was a dead cockroach. When I called the restaurant, the man (owner) told us ''IT IS NOT POSSIBLE, THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN HERE''. He was rude! Meal ruined, posting pictures. We use Door Dash to regularly order form this place. Guess this is the last time. ZERO STARS! For This Place! Also, they were missing a Flan but that's not a big deal. They insisted that we bring back the food to them, so he can see! There is a reason people use door dash. When we told him we ordered through DoorDash, he said we need to figure out how to get here. There food is usually good and we never had any issues with the quality before. Update: Door Dash was nice enough to refund entirely mean, plus $20."
