McDonald's 1480 Larkin Avenue, Elgin, IL 60123

"Hi, I feel really bad leaving this review, but I wanted to put this out there so maybe someone else would see it and save themselves the trouble of going inside this McDonald's. It's been several years since I went inside this McDonald's (usually drive thru for a drink or a quick burger) but last week on Friday I had time and thought instead of waiting in the very long and slow moving drive thru lines I'd just go in and eat inside. I parked and walked in. I was SHOCKED at how awful the inside of the McDonald's looks. All the beverage machines were gone, there is this tiny little counter, no decorations, it looks so BLAH inside. Also, it was PACKED with high school kids from across the street. There was no where to even sit and clearly most of them were not eating and were just there hanging out. Also, it would be nice if there were directions on how to order, can you order at the counter? Can you only order at the kiosk? What is going on? It was SO bad I turned around and walked out. I went to another McDonald's for a fish sandwich. I'm sure it's still owned by the Bear Family, so they still got my business but I would never go inside the Larkin location again. It felt very stark, cold and unwelcoming. It's a shame what it's like now. Awful. Maybe teens don't care but adults appreciate a friendly environment."

"Came through the drive thru, the person on the speaker was taking my order and adding the wrong items onto the display screen. Had to repeat myself like 3 times. Then he was completely silent and I’m saying hello hello, and then he missed an order of my fries and they charged me again! Also they put tomatoes on my sandwich after I told them specifically NO TOMATO! I"

"I would give them 0 stars if that was available. Order last night from mobile app got there and they trying to give me cold food. When I say the store was empty so why I’m i getting cold food? Mobile orders should not be cooked until you pull up to the restaurant smh. Then I asked for hot food which is insane you shouldn’t have to ask that for fries and a burger. And mine you my burger is special order because I don’t want all the condiments on there. And the McFlurry was not working smh. So basically they gave me the same cold food back I told them I want fries out of the grease I guess I was asking for too much. How about I got a refund. And they all looking at me crazy because I want hot food I’m paying for. If you don’t want to work there find a new job but give the customer what they are paying for. I could have made better food at home and at least it would have been hot. I didn’t order a cold salad the nerves of these employees!!"

"Placed an order through the app at this location, and they said they couldn’t find my order. Instead of explaining politely about checking in and where to find the order number, the lady behind the counter kept raising her voice and talking over me. Very disrespectful. The service here is usually this way lately. The staff always has an attitude."
