Cole's Hearth Room

"We have been seeking new restaurants to enjoy date night experiences in the Midwest . This restaurant came up on a search and reading the reviews ahead it looked to be a great choice . We called the day of and we were able to make reservations for 2 the same evening . Parking at night was a little tricky for first time but it was well lit and had upper and a lower level parking . We were greeted immediately by the bartender/host after walking in and offered a bar menu . We were able to order a drink and seated by our reservation time . Everyone that had contact with us from beginning to end of service was friendly . We ordered drinks, appetizers, salads, entrees . Everything we had was amazing . My favorite was the crab cake for appetizers and the sweet potatoes on the side . I would recommended visiting this restaurant and we plan to make it a date night favorite choice ."

"Cole’s Hearth Room is one of my favorite places to dine for a special occasion! I have found that the Fettuccine Alfredo is always delicious and goes nicely with the hearth salad. The house-made lemonade is also delicious! Audrey has been our server several times and always does a great job. She knows the menu well and makes great suggestions when I have questions. I would high recommend this restaurant!"

"We had a 5pm reservation for my husbands birthday. We were seated promptly, our waters were filled and kept full, and our drink order was taken and we had our drinks by 5:10! Our server was Audrey - she was sweet, attentive, and genuinely cared and enjoyed her job. We placed our food order at 5:10 as well, and our food came out about 10 til 6. The wait seemed long, but tolerable for what we ordered. We each had a filet and my husband had a 6oz lobster tail as well. We initially had to send his steak to be cooked a tad longer, but hes picky. We expect it to be cooked right hopefully the first time… but we’re also humans. If we had sent it back again, it would have been charred. :( he said it was still very good! The sides were potatoes or Brussels sprouts, and I’m one that cannot stand Brussels sprouts. I asked if I could pay for a salad instead and they told me no - I would have to pay another full charge the salad. I got double potatoes instead. They were good flavor wise - but they could have cooked longer, they were just a bit under done but still edible. My steak was perfect and his lobster tail was awesome. We got the drunk aunt drink which was absolutely wonderful! The man filling the water was silent, and not personable, but he did his job at the bare minimum. We were seated at a two top table in the middle of the floor. I do wish we’d been sat at a 4 top catty corner from us, which was only set for two, but we dealt as we know they can get busy. The room echos a bit so it was loud but tolerable. Overall the service was fantastic, the food was wonderful, and the atmosphere was good as well."

"I had an absolutely wonderful experience here at Cole's Hearth Room. Not only was the service top notch, but the atmosphere was in a word, incredible. Never before have I seen such compassion and efficiency from a server until I was served by a fantastic lady by the name of Audrey. She was an extremely friendly person and went above and beyond expectations to serve us our food. She showed great dedication in her job and was fantastic at what she does. I recommend this place to anyone and hope everyone can experience the amazing service that I had."

"Not impressed— $20 for a measly crab cake that had limited flavor.. Never got our waters refilled. And everything is way overpriced. Must be a local status thing to brag about eating there in podunk Palmyra. I’ve had better steaks at Texas Roadhouse. And far better portions. Even tried the desserts but out forest cake tasted like it was at least a week old and dried out.. Currently reading other reviews I expect the response from ownership will probably be consistent with excuses or “attacks” to the reporting patron… an establishment’s response to the customer’s concerns show a lot about their integrity and honest ability to take constructive criticism… instead it appears Cole’s Hearth Room attacks its customers if they report how the place really operates and how the food tastes."
