"Genuinely their alarm system is screwed up it's a serious danger, when they run any type of alarm there's the normal fire alarm for example but then they have this unbelievably high pitched and high volume squeal going literally nonstop the entire time louder than I have ever heard an alarm, it went off for a few minutes and genuinely hours later my ears are still ringing and my hearing is impacted because of how freakishly loud it was I have lived in many apartments and been in many public buildings with alarms I have never heard anything remotely close to how loud this constant squeal was; it's so loud you literally cannot hear the fire alarm or any instructions it blocks everything out and you don't even think it's an alarm at first until eventually you realize that underneath this squeal is an actual alarm, it's so loud that the concerned residents fleeing the building completely could not speak with each other because it was so loud you truly could not communicate even outside the building shouting at the top of our lungs, it's so loud it damaged the hearing of many residents, in conclusion their alarm system is terrible because the actual alarm is completely blocked by a constant squeal that is freakishly loud to the point of severely negatively impacting resident safety and utterly ruined the fire alarm communication system, completely unacceptable. I cannot stress enough how the noise I'm complaining about is different than the alarm and so loud it prevents residents from hearing the alarm so it isn't helpful as a warning system actually the opposite it prevented everyone from knowing there was a fire, and that it is too loud it's truly a mistake if you heard this once you would realize, it's the loudest thing I've ever heard in my entire life and I've ever heard every single alarm at the capitol and a nuclear alarm in multiple government buildings and they're not even remotely close to this sound it's a mistake and deeply affects resident hearing when it mistakenly goes off"
"Great memories were made here and decent apartment building"
"If I could give this place zero stars I honestly would. Elevator is always broken and hallways smell like weed and urine 24/7 haha! All garages smell like garbage in the complex and the smell will make you want to re think living here. Management is horrible and really could care less about any of your requests. If you love the heat and not having working air conditioning, this is the perfect place for you!!"
"Lived here for two years. Management is horrible. My room was constantly hot and miserable, even with three fans on. I made multiple maintenance requests and they practically did nothing. Not to mention, my bathroom shower had a crack at the bottom. There is 100% black mold in the walls. Lastly, the roof top was always covered in trash and broken granite everywhere from the countertops never being finished."
"Pretty poor experience living at the block on Leon. The day I moved in, I was given the wrong key - it only unlocked my roommate's door but I did not know it was her unit and she would be arriving the next day. Lo and behold, when she left the leasing office and went to move her stuff in, her key only worked on the room my parents helped me move all of my belongings into! So, I had to get my key reprogrammed and move everything out all by myself. Instead of an apology from anyone in the leasing office for their mistake, I got a shrug and an eye roll. Things did not get better! Upon settling in, my roommate and I discovered that the washing machine did not work. In addition, the circuit box, which was located in my room, did not have a door that could remain closed. We requested service on both of these things and waited two weeks before we could wash any clothes that we wore in the mid-August Austin heat. In those two weeks, our service requests were marked as "complete" when it was very obvious no one had ever even entered our unit. One day, they just rolled a whole new washing machine in after filing *three* separate requests. As if that wasn't bad enough, the management's solution to my busted circuit box was to drill the door onto it! Literally - it was impossible to open without tools after that - hinges on one side (one broken, causing it previously to hang) and screws on the other!! That definitely was hazardous. Finally, I have literally never had a call back from the leasing office. If you're looking into this place, just know that the leasing office is a couple blocks away from the apartment complex on Leon. So, if you have an issue, you can try calling the office or you can make time to walk over there. Calling has never worked for me. They rarely answer and when they don't, you are prompted to leave a message so they can get back to you. Not once have I ever been called back, even after leaving my name, number, and unit. A cautionary tale; if you are going to pay a pretty penny for a West Campus apartment, find one that has good management and people who seem like they give a hoot about you."
