"Beware of Rainier Properties and their leasing policies; I asked for assistance, and did not get it until after the quote deadline has passed; I am beginning to think this was intentional to get me to pay another application fee. While this is my fault for being so trusting to landlords in the first place, beware to those who wish to pursue these properties as a place to live. They pocketed the money for an incomplete application (meaning NO BACKGROUND CHECK was conducted and the property was not taken off the market at all) and ran away with it, all while not responding to any of my e-mails to survey the properties or clarify."

"Like the person described well below, the biggest advantage of this apartment is the location. The apartment building is old and sometimes washing machines are not working but I could see that there were always maintenance people were walking around the building to resolve any issues or clean the property. The moving-out process was as easy as moving-in and I got my deposit back after paying off any prorated utility fees (water, sewer and trash) which were understandable."

"I was a resident at Park Place for four years. Overall, I was very happy with my time at Park Place and I would recommend to others that they live there. The main thing that drew me to the apartment was its location. It's easy to walk downtown, enjoy the bars and restaurants, and go back to a home tucked away in a residential area that doesn't feel like downtown. I had really awesome neighbors, we looked out for each other and made a nice community together. The apartments are older so don't be expecting a lot of amenities. There were a number of maintenance problems over the years, but maintenance almost always came within 24 hours to fix the problems. I saw a lot of property managers and staff at Rainier come and go, but generally they were friendly and easy to work with. My rent started at around $650/month in 2009 but part of the reason I left was rent going up to over $800/month for just over 500 sq ft. Too rich for my blood, despite the great location. I waited until my final bill and deposit settlement to write this, and I'm happy to say that I feel like the charges to my deposit were fair. All in all the apartment was a great place to live and the management were professional and provided a good business relationship. One thing to watch out for: some units are undergoing renovation, which creates a lot of noise and some water interruption. Rainier Management weren't particularly helpful in dealing with the noise or notifying residents when water would be turned off. Also, the renovated apartments are MUCH nicer than the non-renovated ones. Ensure that, if you're leasing a non-renovated apartment, you're not paying as much rent as for a newly renovated unit."
