"UPDATE: Management finally responded after a month of attempted emails and phones calls after posting this review, but they still refuse to resolve the issue. Management is claiming the extra charges are due to a late notice to vacate, although I have an email from the leasing office allowing for a late notice to vacate due to not receiving a lease renewal offer in a timely manner. It’s not only the billing issue but the state of the property itself. Mailboxes were oftentimes broken into, resulting in stolen credit cards and packages. The washer/dryers were out of order frequently, and the laundry rooms didn’t even lock, allowing for homeless to inhabit them. The dog park fencing was falling apart and the entire property was riddled with dog poo. The apartment itself was damp, musty, and moldy and the AC went out multiple times in the heat of the summer. The police were on the property multiple times a week for domestic disputes and the whole place is just unsafe, poorly managed, and badly maintained. Save yourself the trouble and just live somewhere else. ORIGINAL: billing issues upon move out. The keys were turned in three days prior to the lease end date and the property is still attempting to charge upwards of $300 for "rent" for dates past the lease end date. With multiple attempts via email and phone to both the property and the former resident team we have been unable to get a response to get the situation remedied."
"TLDR: Don't waste your money! I never even got the chance to live here but this is based on my experience with the tour and application process. I scheduled a tour with Jazmyne last month and arrived a few minutes early. Jazmyne never showed and Lauren, a very new employee, had to call and find out Jazmyne was running over an hour late and that she would have to do the tour. I understand things happen but I was never reached out to by Jazmyne at all. Had Lauren not called her, who knows how long I would have been waiting. Anyway, I wanted to see a few different apartments because I wasn't sure exactly when I was moving or how much space I would need (wasn't sure if my husband would be here or out of town, long story). Lauren led the tour even though she had never even been to most of the "Volumes." She ended up being great however. Eventually, Jazmyne made it back to the office and made no apology for completely missing the tour, she simply chided me for "being in the way" as I was looking at a map of the complex at the front desk where she ended up taking a seat. Despite this, I was interested in the complex due to the convenient location. I filled out the application in the office but stopped when I got the hidden admin fee which brought the total to $250 to apply. I told Lauren I was touring other places and would get back on this. I later received an email from Lauren that she got the go ahead to refund $150 of my application fee in first month's rent if I made it that day. I was also assured that I could change the apartment and add my husband with the same application. I emailed back and called, leaving multiple messages, to get pricing for a 1-bedroom but never got a single reply. My time was running out but I had been promised I could easily make changes so I made the deposit for a studio. Within the next few days, I found out that I would indeed need a place for both my husband and myself but I still hadn't heard anything. I told Lauren that I wasn't sure about Volume anymore because I had been completely ignored for days even though I replied directly to her emails and called through the phone number listed on their website. She assured me there was some sort of mistake (still sceptical) but was able to answer all of my questions. Disappointingly, I was told during this that I would have to make a new application (with fees) for a different apartment. Even though she said this would be refunded, it was not what I was told. Regardless, a few days later, I told Lauren I was going to go with Volume but would like to hear about/tour some more units and she told me she no longer worked for the company. I then had to deal with Jazmyne again. She kept pushing for me to go with the studio I had originally applied for but I asked about other pricing on specific units as I now had my husband and we didn't want to share a studio. Jazmyne merely told me that one of the units I inquired about had been rented and pursuaded me again to just go with the studio. This made me decide once and for all to give up on these apartments. I can't imagine living here and having to deal with Jazmyne about any issue ever and being completely dismissed. I went with another place but I have now wasted $250 on Volume and put in more work than the employees that work there. Don't waste your money. Go anywhere else!!"
"I have lived in Volume 7 for a year now and just resigned my lease. Employees are nice, maintenance is on top of any issues, plus location is amazing. Walking distance the best restaurants/bars in town."
"I moved out of this apartment in April, I still have not received my deposit back. There was no damage to my unit and no dispute. They simply ignore calls and emails and send me to a third party to resolve it. I've emailed, I've called, its been six months. Please send me back my deposit."
"I haven't had the opportunity to live here, but I have a bad experience and I'll tell you why. I'm Portuguese and I was looking for houses in Austin. I looked everywhere and found Volume. I immediately thought: "it's cheap, the company is nearby and it seems "safe". I tried to contact Volume several times, again SEVERAL TIMES, I emailed them for over a week... After that week and a few more days, my boyfriend decided to call Volume to get some information, since they weren't the least bit interested in answering my questions. After that phone call, someone from the office (I think) told my boyfriend to send them another e-mail with my questions. They reply really quick and then they stopped replying. I sent a second email, a third email and then (finally) they replied. It was a week later when I sent an email, and they replied the same day or the next day, and I always replied very quickly. Honestly, I had already started my application for the house, until I sent an email with some final questions (the last ones I had) and, to my surprise, they never got back to me since today (it's been a week...). If you're thinking of living here, I advise you not to send them an email. Give them a call! You didn't want to rent the studio and you lost a client, Volume."
