"We have been to several pizza places, here at Sam's Ristorante & Pizzeria on Riverside is the BEST. We have now found the Best place in Rockford for great tasting pizza. The staff is very friendly and the service is wonderful. If you haven't been there, you need to try it out :)"

"We were greeted by a very friendly bartender / waiter. We were seated and the menu was explained to us. We ordered a Caesar salad to share. It was very large, freshly made, and delicious. We also ordered a large thin crust pepperoni pizza. The crust was crisp, the tomato sauce was Tangy and sweet, and the flavor was fantastic. Would definitely eat here again the next time we are in Rockford."

"Held our class reunion here. Everything was great and the food was very good! Gino was great to work with, very accommodating and very attentive! I gave 4 stars for service only because the bartenders were slow and it took a long time for people to get drinks! Otherwise, everything was great!"

"Great crust! You can always tell when a pie crust is bought or made. My guess is this crust was made in Sam's giant Hobart from a 50lb bag of flour. A handful, pinch, splash and a lot of love. 24 hours later you get this crust. Wonderful yeasty floury deliciousness. And so much better than any mailman dough. Hello, any Pizza franchise ever. Gino was our waiter. He may have been the owner? He fit the bill. Gino confirmed the presence of the Hobart on the premises. We ate a late lunch/early dinner. It wasn't busy at 3pm, but Gino was. I assume he was busy in the back prepping for a dinner rush. Everything is made by hand and freshly cut. Lotta work. But the proof is in the puddin (Pizza). The crust isn't NY thin. It'd fall apart it it were. Sam's isn't afraid of toppings. The pizza was heavy, with foot long mozzarella streamers on every pull. Sam's is quality. Value for the price. It's one of the best pub pizzas in Rockford. Worth the stop. Reccomend."
