Reviews of The Abbey at Sonterra
"General Cleanness of apartment was fair. Floors did not appear to be swept well. Light under stove does not work, one of the kitchen light bulbs does not work. The kitchen sink plumbing under the sink leaks and drained all over under the sink and the kitchen floor on Sunday evening. Spent over an hour soaking and cleaning up the mess."
"Last October (2022) my husband and I moved into this apartment community. We were so excited by its grandiose design and its amazing staff. The office personnel were so friendly and fun. Our apartment was a three bedroom two bath. Even though the price was a bit higher than comparable apartments in the area. We especially liked that our apartment over looked the green belt across Huebner rd. Part of the staff was a woman and her husband (who was also a minister) filled the role as community activities directors. The parties were fabulous and so we started encouraging our friends to join us when their lease’s expired. After the first two months the manager announced her departure. That was the beginning of the end! Over the course of the next year the new manager was successful in getting rid of the entire office staff. Including the cute couple that organized the community functions. In its place they just called a food truck to come so we could purchase our own. A far cry from what we were enticed with. The moral of the maintenance team went from one extreme to another. Then the management sends out mass emails asking for “feedback “ in a survey that is sent directly to the manager. Like anyone still residing there would ever answer truthfully with the fears of retaliation. We complained about having to step over puke in a hallway for over three months even after complaining directly to the manager. Then months later when I asked her if she ever walked the property she was insulted???? We moved out this past December and our timing couldn’t have been better! The day before we turned in our keys and have our move out walk through the community had 20 cars either stolen or broken into. We had several neighbors that had their catalytic converter stolen during our duration living there. The management never addressed it with the residents. Our final straw was when our garbage was not being picked up ( we paid extra for valet trash service) I told the manager. After the third time I approached the manager again, she stated I could call the valet service myself as that was not her job. I got very cross with her because she was as helpful as a wart on a frogs tush! We never fathomed how noisy living on Huebner would be. Between the drag racing and ambulances screaming by every other day on its way to the assisted living facility next door. In the course of one year I wasn’t able to take one nap during the day. Upon moving out I was told by the manager that our apartment was left in impeccable condition and it wasn’t very often a tenant leaves a unit in such a beautiful condition. Then upon leaving she said there were scratches on the refrigerator. Those were there from the tenants prior to us which included 3 children. All I can say to the owners is perhaps you should take a survey without it going directly to the on site manager. After seeing the responses that others have received from their reviews,I expect for this to fall on deaf ears. One would think that the owners would ask themselves why a community stacked with Mercedes, BMW’s, Lexuses, and Audi’s to Kia’s Volkswagons, and Hyundai’s and an occupancy rate inthe high nineties wouldn’t be questioning the abilities of a manager that’s allowed it to fall so drastically. Even the residents profile has diminished over the last year. In our breezeway with over 30 apartments, there were only three of us left from the residence that were living there when we moved in. You would think someone at the corporate level would have noticed something by now. Good luck if you choose this community, you can’t say you weren’t warned!!!"
"I recently moved in and have nothing bad to say about this place! From the moment I toured with Jenny, she made me comfortable and impressed me with her knowledge of the property. She made the move in process smooth and easy! Thank you Jenny! So thrilled to have made the Abbey at Sonterra my new home!"
"We have been in the process of relocating, so we stopped by to check this place out. I'm glad we arrived when we did, because I'm thinking we dodged a bullet here. There must have been 20 cars broken into, and we were lucky enough to pass by some folks and talk to them. They say the management is very defensive when the residents complain about the lack of security, and don't do anything to help. This place looked nice, but with such horrible security issues, it was an easy NO on our list. Best of luck to all the folks who had their vehicles broken into and stuff stolen. It's too bad the management isn't taking better care of y'all."
"Visited the property today Nov 27, 2023 seeking a 3/2 or a 2/2. Oscar walked me through the property and showed me the model unit. The common areas were all clean and orderly. The hallways were definitely cold (at least on the third floor) but once you enter that unit, definitely stellar! The restrooms and closets on these are huge. I'm interested in the community events he said they have monthly. I'm still debating on the location as I'm more keen to being immediately close to to 281 or 1604 but it isn't a stretch. The prices were competitively set, no issues. Looking forward to making a decision soon. Oh, and thank you Jenny for referring me over, this property definitely most aligns with what I'm looking for."
