"I lived at this complex for three years. It’s nicer than the dorms but not as nice as an off campus apartment. All utilities are included here though so it’s a flat rate which I enjoyed. It is nice and everyone readily helped with maintenance issues. I give it four as I had some people wait on things or not communicating as good but it’s not the complexes fault and those people no longer work here. I recommend it for students coming to utsa as it is a good first apartment."
"Genuinely a terrible place to live I should’ve trusted the reviews. Every good review you see is either an RA or an RA’s friend don’t be fooled. The units are disgusting, nearly every appliance is broken, maintenance comes in unannounced and rarely actually helps, staff is rude, unhelpful, and incompetent. Also when maintenance comes be careful to watch exactly what they do and takes pictures of everything management will attempt to charge you for everything even damage done by maintenance. Sinks and showers don’t drain, paint chips everywhere, stove broken, door broken, dishwasher broken, black mold everywhere that continues to regrow, bugs, etc. Also if you are wondering if the website looks anything like the actual place it does not they are trying to scam you, units do not look like that and the only ones that do are the units that they use for tours. Not worth your money live anywhere else. Shuttles go to majority of other apartment complexes all of which are better than university oaks and there are plenty close to campus, you cannot even park on campus with the Uoaks parking pass but with the commuter pass you can which you would get if you live at another complex so honestly that’s better if proximity is what you are worried about. They only care about trying to take your money and spend more time making instagram posts than fixing all the issues within the building. Also all of the amenities are closed indefinitely even for the 2021-2022 school year despite the fact the complex advertises its use. This place the has the most incompetent staff I have ever had the displeasure of meeting and is need of serious remodeling in nearly every aspect. More than anything this places isn’t worth your money one of my biggest regrets is living here, if on campus is what you are looking for I suggest Chaparral or Laurel other than that avoid at all costs for the sake of your sanity and your bank account. Whatever reason you come up with to live here DO NOT it is as bad as it seems actually worse. Also not to mention they don’t enforce covid guidelines and RA’s not only gather in large groups without masks constantly but go into other public spaces without them too. Genuinely no person deserves the troubles of living here do yourself a favor and don’t sign they just want your money also say goodbye to that security deposit they probably spent it on useless items so they can post on their instagram and have “events” which are bs."
"If you are looking into university oaks as a place to live, I unfortunately can't give the highest recommendations. We had little hot water for a month and a half, wifi was out for almost two weeks, water is so hard that you have to boil water multiple times in hopes of it not having chunks of calcified stuff in it when you use it. Since I've lived here my door has died probably once a month leaving me stuck outside. Maintenance is not available at convient times and it puts the RAs in an akward position If something is needed before 10 am. One major pro is that every single time I've called the RA on call number someone is here in 15 -20 min almost everytime. I work nights and usually get home at 6:45 am. My door will die sometimes and I will be locked out and have to call them, they have always shown up and been super nice and very helpful when I have this issue even though I had to wake them up come over and open the door. This most recent time it shut off somthing else was wrong and the RA was unable to fix it, she was very nice and apologetic about the issue and stated she would help get maintenance over if possible. University oaks is honestly about what you'd expect, but definitely not worth the 1000 some odd dollars a month for a apartment with no roommate. You can find nicer for far cheaper around the area."
"University Oaks is absolutely not the place to be. To start off simple there are no lights in the living room, no fan in the bed room and the “table” is like 1 foot off if the ground. The dryer leaves your clothes smelling burnt. The pool and sand volleyball court are closed due to covid but they still have other events which makes no sense. There has been no hot/ warm water for over a month (because of the snow storm) even though they kept saying it would be fixed soon. It is not worth your time nor money."
"My roommates and I have had many issues while living here. Our door sensor frequently breaks, the RA number keeps you on hold for a long time, maintenance and RA's take a long time to help you, there is black mold in the bathrooms, RA's discarding their responsibility to wear masks indoors and in common spaces, paint chipping on bathtubs and sinks (why is there even paint over tubs and sinks in the first place?) and a general lack of professionalism, especially from staff. I would suggest living elsewhere until University Oaks starts to take COVID-19 precautions sincerely or until the staff is completely replaced. It's just not worth it."
