"The experience at this surgery center was pretty terrible. Their policy is only 2 parents are able to accompany each child so I had to make last minute arrangement for my nursing infant after going back and forth trying to get an exception made unsuccessfully. When we arrived there was another family there with kids, grandparents, etc so I don't think they enforce the rule.. The moment we walked in we were told "it'll be a while because we're really busy." 5 hours later our daughter was finally rolled into her surgery after way too many hours of fasting and trying to entertain her. This was particularly frustrating because it seems they planned to be behind since all the surgeries are scheduled but they started they day at 7:30am already behind schedule by hours."
"Dr. Packwood is very experienced, professional, and kind. The nurses were also caring and proficient. The cost for a specialty center like this is very expensive, but we had a good experience. One suggestion I have is to make water and snacks available to parents while they are waiting during a surgery/procedure. It's challenging for parents to bring in a child on an empty stomach and then not be allowed to bring in any food or drink or leave the facility during a procedure, which may be several hours start to finish."
"The fact that every other cooks hospital and children’s surgery center to we have been at before ALLOWS stepparents to be with their child EXCEPT your facility is ridiculous. Not every child has the “traditional” mom and dad, and stepmoms like myself ARE THE MOM. The fact we were told last night 12/27 I would be allowed back there with my husband and child to 20 minutes ago being kicked out of your facility shows that you truly aren’t a family oriented hospital. We will never use you again. I’d give negative 0’s if I could."
"Dear Cook Children's Urgent-we-don't Care, Very rude! I rarely leave reviews but this was time worthy. Giving I already had an rough time with the care my child received, it was nothing compared to the customer service. My baby had an allergic reaction to one of the meds that were administered, I called to inform them and get info on exact meds that were given, instead the nurse literally, with an attitude told me "I don't have time to look your child up..." Seriously?!? I mean taking in consideration that you probably have patients to deal with at the moment and or you are just having a bad day there's still ways to talk to people respectfully. It's simple as "sorry I'm unable to look that info up right now.." or even lie to me with "I will try to find that info and give you a call" (we all know you won't but still..). With that attitude I wonder how you personally treat your patients. This was first time using your facility, what an awful experience! If you don't appreciate my business I'll gladly take it elsewhere. Thank you"
