"Overall I enjoyed my three and half years at Fort 1901 Loft (formerly known as Hulen House). The location was great and the monthly rent could not be beat. Sadly, I cannot recommend these apartments due significant mold and mildew issues in several of the units. It took months with several calls and emails before a leak in my roof and mold in my vents were addressed. I was told the delay in fixing the roof and getting a professional to look at the mold was due to the owner unwilling to pay for the repairs. After nine months of maintenance requesting, only minimal attempts were taken to take care of the situation. Dalworth Clean looked at my vents and stated it was the worst case of mold the cleaner had ever seen in his 10 years on the job. In spite of upgrades in many of the units, the foundational issues with rain leaks and mold are not being fixed. Several renters have moved out this past year due to mold issues in their units. This past year the owner switched managements companies three times. The owner has taken steps to remove themselves from being directly connected to the property (although you are able to find them with some digging). It has taken several months for me to regain my health due to the prolonged mold exposure that the property managers and owners knowingly chose to ignore. Based on my conversation with other renters not all the building have rain leaks, so if you choose to rent from Fort 1901 Loft do some investigating first."
