"I lived here for 1 year, never missed a payment and did everything possible to be a good tenant. Unfortunately the office management is horrific. We decided not to renew our lease and gave the property the proper 60 day notice to avoid any fees, but guess what they "didn't" receive it. Even though my wife and I have screenshots of the correct email they asked us to send the notice with time stamps of said notice. Being wrongfully charged caused unnecessary stress. Being threatened to collections even though we did what we were asked and sent the proper notice with ample time to avoid fees. Somehow it's our fault that their system wasn't working. It's sad that organizations like this exist to only take advantage and not willing to come to an understanding. Fix your system Valor. Amanda and Stephanie y'all should be ashamed of the "service" you give. Alex thank you for being the only one that even cares. Hopefully you are still there. Thank you for trying. Wish I could put NO stars"
"This Is the first review I’ve ever done ever so it says. Stay away from these apartments. They will charge you a ridiculous amount of money and claim it was cleaning fees. As soon as your lease is done, your account is sent to a collections agency without notification. While living at the apartment we submitted a work order to change blinds in living room. We were charged almost $40 for some cheap plastic blinds that broke in 2 days. When we left we got charged for the same blinds which we had already paid. I submitted a claim with the better business bureau. Will definitely not recommend."
"Maintenance people are great, parking is impossible, front desk can be okay, but horribly/poorly handled property. Every 3-4 months the underground water pipes burst, massive amounts of water floods the area and we are low on water/decommissioned for a couple days at a time. Management is well aware of this persistent and never ending issue. They hide behind corporate and blame corporate as to why they can’t invest on installing new water pipes. Mind you, the ones that are currently in place are about 8 years old, they are meant to last you about 30 years….. Even more of a reason to invest and fix the issue, and not just put a band aid on it. Do better!"
"Stay away from Valor Apartments. They are full of hidden fees & are only interested in making money. Yet when my roof was leaking, they were too busy & I lived with buckets on the for for weeks! When my washer stopped working, they didn’t replace it for nearly a month. They are in cahoots with a car towing company and call them frequently to come during the night to tow away cars without tags. The grounds look pleasant, but the management team are not. Keep looking! Stay away from Valor! You’ve been warned!!!"
"2018 : Great place looks pretty new , Becky was extremely positive and helpful showing me around the place. Update 2021 : Lived here for 3 years , it was overall a good experience with some issues, I believe it is one of the best looking complexes in Harlingen, quiet , nice , there's a dog park. Apartment was well insulated for sound and heat. The place feels safe in general , relatively new apartments, neighbors are friendly, appliances in good condition, maintenance orders take a long time but eventually things get fixed, nice pool area and the complex is nice overall. Alex was very very helpful during my move out process in June 2021 . Thanks Alex !!! Downsides: Rent is getting a bit pricey , the place is on demand , so lots of people and cars , trash area is a problem : from time to time lots of trash do accumulate around the sole container, pool access is often broken so it's hard to get it , cars speeding in the property ( watch yourself and children) , Main gates are often broken , so that's an issue . Administration is relatively good and polite except of course for a couple of rude emails I received maybe from previous the administration, not sure . Communication is poor overall to residents. Texas freeze of February 2021 was really bad , power out for days on end. Not their fault of course but still there's no emergency power at all, not even for emergency lights , so this complex completely relies on the Texas grid. There's no parking spots assigned unless you pay for the roofed spots, and that's an issue as I write next . April 2021 .- One really bad experience I had was i got a brand new 2021 vehicle and it got towed away 3 days after I acquired it . The thing is unfortunately I wasn't able to ask for a parking sticker because of my work schedule - I'm out after office hours and the car had the dealership paper plates so I was going to go there next Saturday . Well on the 3rd day the car was towed away sometime during the night without a warning, so I woke up ready to go to work not finding my a car and not knowing what had happened I was panicking : did someone steal it ? Did I park it someplace else ? Did I dream I even got a new car ? ,it then dawned on me it could have got towed , so I had to wait 2 hours for the office to open and ask. The hassle it created was huge , I had a medical appointment that t day and I had to call in half a day at work . My car was towed all the way to Brownsville (really Brownsville! ) and had to pay $300 plus all the inconveniences and the Uber . I am not against towing policies and even if it technically was my fault, this was very extreme and excessive and it was clearly set up to create the worst experience to a tenant, it's ok to enforce the policy but they need to communicate it better since removing a car should not be taken so lightly, specially if the car is obviously brand new. Or at the very least tow it someplace in Harlingen !! No , they took it all the way to Brownsville, a totally different city, given that the complex has several issues, is towing residents new cars really a priority ? And of course you ask for help at the office and they provide you the towing company 's phone number so you completely have to deal with it yourself because of course " it's your fault " .Finding that towing place was difficult.since it doesn't show on Google maps Anyway, it was the worst experience and made me very mad. Also since the place is packed /full I do now realize there are angry neighbors actively calling security at night on vehicles to get towed because they can't find a place near their door , I get it and it's totally fine , some people are either lazy or have a medical condition etc but the guys at Valor really need to figure this out better and reengineer the whole parking thing by , maybe assigning spots per apartment."
