"I've had a great stay living here. It is indeed pricey, but the location is central to my going in and out. Maintenance is very responsive and everything works about 85-88% of the time. The apartment tenants are pretty good, sometimes there is noise from the nearby establishments or maybe neighbors, but a nice call to your friendly non-emergency line can will quickly solve your problems"
"It’s such a shame that these companies have unexperienced people managing their properties. The unprofessionalism from the staff and their lack of customer service skills is mind boggling, the owners of the property should put attention and take action regarding this matter, as it is affecting their business. The lack of customer service and unprofessionalism from the staff is the number one reason I decided to move out, as they do not take tenants seriously. Tried to renew my contract but I was told that the rent had significantly gone up in cost that it was the same if I stayed month to month, I gave my 60 days move out notice. I asked for an extra week to find a new place to live and that same day I was charged the “pro rate” amount for that extra week, I confirmed if that were all the charges and the property confirmed that was it. Two weeks after I was sent another invoice for $338.00 again for “pro rate” and water utility once again called and confirmed that was the only charge and they say it was the last charge, today I turn in my keys and I was informed that I have to pay an extra $150 of my water utility bill. Chelsie Moreno was not very helpful and never answered my question as of why I was not informed of these other charges when I asked if there would be any more fees. She seemed bothered and not very helpful in the move out process, she was rather more focused on the one drop of water I missed while cleaning the bathroom, to charge more extra fees for cleaning the bathrooms. Talked to the property manager Alexis Sifuentes about the paint on my apartment, now scared that they wouldn’t grant what I was told, and charge more extra fees for something they had told me they would take care of. Instead of confirming what had already been confirmed in two calls and one email, she said that I had to pay for that but since there had been a misunderstanding they were going to “grant” it. Showing the lack of communication with her staff and how they just don’t take people seriously. I have never seen a property manager and staff laugh at the tenants after expressing their concerns. Worst experience, as if moving wasn’t already stressful enough, now imagine having to deal with this. They have no consideration for others."
"I am beyond grateful to the front office staff at The Venue. I recently adopted a dog with severe separation anxiety and the staff has been incredibly helpful in communicating with me and checking in on my pup. I truly appreciate the support. I want to specially thank Yaya and Michelle, who have been very understanding and have kept the balance in keeping with the demands of my neighbors as well as my satisfaction living at the Venue. Seriously, I am beyond grateful."
"My overall experience of living at The Venue has been very positive. I've lived here for about 9 months and during that time, I only have a one gripe– I get more street and hallway noise than what I'd normally care for. Your mileage may vary though depending on your unit/building. Other than this nuisance, the rest of my experience has been very positive. Maintenance has been responsive. They're quick to repair things and they perform quality work (i.e. they haven't had to return to re-fix things). The front office staff has been excellent in their customer service and hasn't lost any of my packages. In a similar vein, the packages that have been delivered to my door step, have not "walked away" which was not the case in a previous complex that I lived at. Finally, my neighbors in my building have all been overwhelmingly calm (not a lot of partiers here) and it feels safe. So all in all, despite the noise this complex has been a safe, peaceful, and convenient place with loads of amenities and great service."
"My wife and I lived in two different apartments in this complex over the course of about 18 months, so I feel like I have a solid position to voice my negativity. This review is not based on a single negative experience; it's the accumulation of frustration from a year and a half of disappointment. I agree completely with what other people have said in their reviews. These apartments look very nice but once you spend some time in one you will quickly realize that they are poorly constructed, poorly thought out, and overpriced. The floors are disappointing linoleum that looks (almost) like wood. None of the corners are properly square. The carpet quality is about as low as it can get. The sink fixtures are flimsy and the dishwasher, range, and refrigerator are bottom-of-the-line quality. I will say that the washer and dryer are very nice, work well, and are a very nice amenity. Most annoyingly the insulation is terrible. You will hear every word people say as they walk through the parking lot. You will hear their car doors close, their horns honk. You will hear the traffic on Mesa Street. You will hear the massive security gates slam closed every time someone goes in or out of them (these things slam so hard that I've seen two of them have to be replaced because the shaking tore them loose from their mounts). You will hear your neighbors move their chairs, walk around, know when their phones ring, and be a silent guest to all their dinner parties. The management is generally helpful and seems to actually try to take care of things when you bring them up but there is only so much you can do when the problems are the result of fundamental design flaws and construction issues. The pet policy is ludicrous. They ask for $700 PER PET, half of which is non-refundable. They state that the fees are for cleaning the apartment after you move out. I cannot understand the logic by which they will need two deposits to clean the apartment once after you move out. Further, the lease we signed clearly stated that the management is responsible for scheduling the carpet cleaning but when you file your move-out notice. However, expect to be told that this is your responsibility. I fought them on it when we left the first apartment and just caved in on the second one because I had too many other things going on to quibble about it. All of these issues aside, it's really just not a great place to have a pet. There is no grass anywhere on the complex, there are no walking paths, and the bags dispensers they provide are only sporadically refilled. All this and they still claim to be 'pet-friendly'! We had significant difficulty with the maintenance staff as well. Don't get me wrong, they responded to all our requests reasonably quickly. The problem was that it generally took 2-3 calls to have them come back and do the job right. It's extremely frustrating to feel like it's your job to double check maintenance work, especially when you're already paying $$$ in rent every month. Please, take this, and the other negative reviews, into consideration before signing your lease here. There are better places to spend your money."
