Reviews
"Should have listened to the other reviews. Please don’t come to this place. If you want to wait for an hour to get seen for 5 mins with no real substance / shallow expertise then go ahead. Incredible how poor the quality of healthcare and service is in austin. On top of that their billing practice is super shady. Like others have mentioned below they tack on ridiculous and shady charges and are constantly looking to over bill you - guys just don’t do it. As a parent of multiple kids, coming here was a huge mistake Please go elsewhere! Can’t stress this enough"
"Dr. Holmes and his staff is absolutely amazing. Weve been under his care for 7 years and have always had a positive experience. My kids are always happy to see him. Dr. Holmes answers all of my questions and explains everything so well. Thank you for being the best!"
"The doctors here are amazing especially Dr. Holmes. Attentive and take the time to know your child's situation and we never feel rushed but yes, they are strict on time so I make sure I am never late. I want to add that I am never waiting for long periods of time like at other offices so I can respect why time is important b/c they respect my time as well. There have been small situations here and there with the front staff that I can overlook b/c things happen which is very understandable and my overall experience with the care for my children overrides the one-offs. When I need to bring my child in b/c she has a burning fever they are able to schedule her the same day with the exception of this one time I called close to closing time and my daughter had a rash and they were not able to see her so I took her to urgent care. I will share my story below as it relates to the visit we had with the nurse practitioner the day before this rash happened (and why I am taking off 1 star) so now I only request to see the doctor. Monday daughter woke up with a fever; thought it was a stomach bug and had her take medicine and drink lots of fluid; she stayed home for 2 days. Thursday, took her to see the Dr. b/c her fever was spiking on and off. We saw the NP and she took one look at her and her mouth and said she was fine as her temp at the time was 98 (did not test for strep) and that she could return to school if she feels ok. Friday, daughter went to school and then was called to pick her up bc she had a rash that was all over her face and started spreading to her body. By the time I got to her it was almost closing time at the office so I couldn't bring her in to see the dr. and took her to urgent care instead. It turns out untreated Strep will result in hives and so they gave her Motrin and prescribed her strep medicine. Could this all have been prevented? Absolutely. A strep test would have shown that my daughter had strep vs just looking at her visually and taking her temperature and would have saved me almost 4 hours of waiting with a feverish child at urgent care. Since this experience every time my child has a fever and is home for more than 24 hours I take her to the dr. to get tested for strep which she ends up getting and will need antibiotics."
"After my experience with my sick son yesterday I can see why this business does not have a 5 star rating. I’ve been taking my son here since he was an infant and never had any issues until yesterday. Had a horrible experience with Samantha Harmon who is extremely unprofessional and would not even come speak to us but instead had the MA run back and forth telling us she wouldn’t be able to see him and that I’d have to call the following day to reschedule. To top it off we tried calling and were hung up on. The next day we received a call that they’d send our records to another provider and absolutely showed no care at all and not even an apology. Would not recommend this place after our horrible experience. My sons well-being was definitely not important to them. They just wanted to hurry up and leave for the day."
"We made the switch to Whitestone Pediatrics last November and I am SO glad we did! Dr. Holmes has gone above and beyond to care for my two kids. He truly cares about his patients (and their parents) which is absolutely rare these days. Not only does he have great bedside manner but is knowledgeable, takes his time every single visit and is conservative on his medical treatment. Cheers to another wonderful year with Whitestone Pediatrics!"
