"I have been very disappointed in the lack of professionalism & accuracy of the Reid Medical Clinic. My husband has been in medical hold since May (it is now the middle of July) due to a mistake in paperwork while he was in BMT. He was not notified of this mistake & was shocked to be placed in holding the Friday following his graduation with no idea why he was being placed there. He met with his case worker that Monday & they had no information to give him other than “wait & speak with a sergeant tomorrow.” The sergeant he spoke with on Tuesday informed him of their mistake & assured him that he would be swiftly moved out of holding, as it was a minor mistake that they missed. Since then, they have failed to send paperwork for review 3 different times, made 3 separate simple errors causing the forms to be kicked back, & failed to document a medical test he had taken. The only way the errors have even been noticed or corrected are when he has requested an appointment and they’re required to pull his file. To our frustration, they are no longer taking appointment requests. This leaves everything at the mercy of Reid; which has proven to be problematic. We have been very patient & compliant, but the lack of diligence is costing him time to move forward in his career, as well as adding time being separated from his family. This is just one story of many where Reid Medical Center has failed our Airmen. There are people who have been in holding for over 200 days, some close to a year, due to the negligence of Reid’s employees. Men & women are left in the dark on their status, constantly having to combat mistakes, & are hit with disappointment nearly every week as they’re told their documents have been reviewed when they haven’t. This leaves such a bad taste in new airmen’s mouths, & their morale takes a major hit as a result. I hope that some changes can be enacted soon to improve the whole system, because this has been truly disheartening."
